Second Pony, my girl is a gamer herself and it does help to share some activities. Not everything of course, such as how she's into some science thingy with cells and plants, and I like rolling on the ground.

Yes it's important to have shared interests. Ages ago I had a girlfriend that was a devout Southern Baptist...not being one myself, things didn't work out too well.

Well, they can hate gaming, but I have to add I wouldn't accept whining/nagging constantly about it either.. If that's the fact they shouldn't even be with you in the first place. They can hate it, but at the same time get over it, if you will.

It's actually pretty important, at least to the extent that they can understand the need to play certain video games. While I am not as big a gamer as some, I do play them and they are important to me as a favorite hobby. I don't care if they don't like to play, but respect and understanding is important. Of course, I would prefer if that person did play video games.

That said, at the same time I'm not gonna try to force it on someone who isn't that interested. If I can just play my games without any attitude about it, then that's fine. Last girl I spent any real amount of time with was into plenty of stuff I didn't really care about, but I just let her have her thing.

I try to be open-minded to other people's interests, even when I don't share them, but when I see something that is truly, truly terrible and irredeemably stupid I simply have to bash the hell out of it or else I'll crack a rib. It's like trying to hold in a sneeze. I am COMPELLED to bash it.

That whole psychic/John Edwards thing though....Mm, that's a hard one to stomach, but I usually just explain how the trick works to make it clear I don't buy it and then leave it be.

I don't mind people in general who are religious as long as they don't try to force it on me, but I couldn't ever be with anyone who was religious. It's not the actual belief itself that would bother me, but what it would say about her personality.
