Chewblaha
In this thread, we talk about our favorite XBL game and make suggestions of others that we should play. As much as I had played MNC when I got it for free and the hours I put into it, It barely even put a dent into the hours I've put into MvC2. . Having played about six hundred ranked matches and about 2000 player matches, I think this game is easily my favorite Arcade game, despite making me more angry and vicious than a fucking velociraptor. Great fighting game and it transported well (for me at least) to the controller. I use the analog sticks so I'm fine. Minty and I have duked it out (fuck Psylocke) and I'm looking forward to more people joining us to play. Now...other games I'd suggest: Monday Night Combat (I've lost the juice in that game and I am no longer effective) Shadow Complex Earthworm Jim HD Mega Man 9 Monkey Island: SE Monkey Island 2: SE N+ 'Splosion Man Super Meat Boy Puzzle Quest Limbo Puzzle Fighter HD Braid Doom Geometry Wars 2 Uno Texas Hold 'Em Penny Arcade Episodes 1 and 2 Lumines Live! is a great game, but you have to pay for pretty much every game mode and new skins. RadiantViper
You mention Doom ... but not Doom II? For shame. Other favourites of mine: Shadow Complex Both Monkey Islands ilomilo Castlevania: SotN Lara Croft GoL Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Chewblaha
I've heard some really good things about Lara Croft and ilomilo. Do you suggest I pick those up for sure?
RadiantViper
I've heard some really good things about Lara Croft and ilomilo. Do you suggest I pick those up for sure? Lara Croft has excellent co-op play (both local and online), but it's also pretty damn fun solo. A good amount of content, you'll get your money's worth if you go for the %100 (which isn't too difficult). I found ilomilo to be a really fun puzzle game, and I usually don't like that genre at all. Very cute game, and it has a good challenge level (not annoyingly hard, not pathetically easy). I would definitely recommend them both. Just fyi, ilomilo hasn't been official released yet (that happens on January 5th), I and others got it early from an official website handing out trial codes. StrifeROKs
What is ilmomilo-whatever
Chewblaha
Judging by the trailer I just watched... It's a game where you have little ilomilo's meeting each other in the center of the designed level. It reminds me of Minecraft in the sense of building your own paths, and having to get by different obstacles with limited blocks. It looks like you have to fill in paths to get to meet your ilomilo's. Perhaps I will purchase it. How long is it?
RadiantViper
Yup, it's set in a world made of cubes. You can travel along them, as mentioned the goal is to get the two characters together (you can switch between them). You can pick up certain blocks and put them down, some places you can travel to a different axis (as in, around a cube), etc etc. Basically you navigate and use the tools at hand (there's a single block, a triple block, an elevator, and more). Well if you just plow through the game it would probably only take 2 or 3 hours ... depending on how stuck you get on some of the puzzles (later ones get pretty tricky). But getting 100% involves much more thorough investigation of each level to get certain items, plus you'll unlock bonus levels which are even more complex. I'd estimate ... 5+ hours? It kinda depends on your ability level with puzzlers (I kinda suck). Still, the game is so adorable and clever, it's really worth it. mintycrys
ilomilo is fun. Lara Croft is a damn good game, too, but I just can't find the motivation to buy it at full price, and I've missed all the sales for it. Games I'd recommend: Monday Night Combat (best MP experience this year) OutRun Online (port of OutRun 2, the greatest arcade racing game of all time yeah you heard me) The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match (pure fighting game gold; they use the correct hardware revision, too!) Perfect Dark HD (worth every point) Hydro Thunder Hurricane (fantastic racing physics) Shadow Complex (nearly flawless Metroidesque game) There are others I like, but those are the favorites out of what I own. TheMightyEthan
Monday Night Combat (best MP experience this year) QFMFT, and I don't even generally like multiplayer games. In addition to MNC, I would recommend, in no particular order: Limbo (My review) Risk: Factions (then play it with me) ilomilo (My review) Carcassonne *Edit* - Also Catan.
hatch
do carcassonne or catan have live mp? I was under the impression one or both did not, if they did and enuff ppl here have it I would be up for getting it and playing
TheMightyEthan
They both have Live MP. Catan does not have local MP, which is stupid.

getlefty
Qix++ is a game I completely missed when it came out and my friend in NY told me what it was and I was like... "oh, like jezzball?" and she had no idea what I was talking about but that's a basic version of what Qix is. It's simple, it's repetitive, but when you go for that 95%+ completion you start having a lot of fun. Castlevania HD Magic Pac Man CE & DX I own... probably close to 50 XBLA titles and the only one I feel I wasted my money on was minesweeper flags. I have no idea what possessed me to purchase that garbage dump.

Also, I do need to get around to trying Pac-Man DX. I enjoyed CE.
staySICK
Torchlight is a fun game, and really scratched that Diablo itch. I'll be interested in seeing how it translates to a controller scheme though.
arbitarty
Bionic commando, though I think it has been ruined. I was addicted to that game on my NES. The stores never had it, so I basically had it permanently rented from the video store
peteer01
D'OH! Week of February 28: PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX, 400 Points (Save 50%) **Special pricing available for Xbox LIVE Gold Members So...I finally got around to trying PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX yesterday. I bought it. Definitely worth the 800 points, and much better than I was expecting. That said, today I see that it's the DOTW on sale for half price from today. For any of you who tried it but thought 800 points was too much, any any of you who haven't tried it...I highly recommend picking it up for 400 points. My feelings it that the vast majority of the TAY board will find it worth their time and money at that price, and that the few who won't are already sure that they're not interested in this. TheFlyingGerbil
Don't know if this counts as it's Indie not Arcade but clover: a curious tale is half price (now 200 points) but that ends today so I thought I'd stick it in here. It has had a couple of good reviews but I haven't played it yet so don't blame me if you hate it!
