deanb
So who's watching the VGA's? Anyone got any international streaming links? I wouldn't mind watching this Mass Effect 3 trailer.
Chewblaha
Has it been confirmed that it is indeed going to be ME3?
MetalCaveman
I'm interested in an international stream too, that would be cool to see. Somehow the people of Animax Mexico decided it would be a good idea to broadcast them... 10 Days later.
deanb
Has it been confirmed that it is indeed going to be ME3? I'd imagine that with the ME3 posting on EA store and the style of the armour and such that it's ME3 at the VGA's
MetalCaveman
Is it too late now? Anyway, what about that thing about Mass Effect 3 on the EA store and stuff?
deanb
http://www.boxlive.tv/channels/spiketv It's laggy as hell though.
AcidCrownie
*Ahem* VGA's: Perpetuating the sex-starved, porn-addicted gamer stereotype. Worst. Awards Show. Ever.
TheMightyEthan
Here's the stuff I would have picked: Best Studio: Bungie Best Action Adventure Game: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Best Shooter: Halo: Reach Best RPG: Mass Effect 2 (Fallout: NV was *this* close) Best Independent Game: Limbo Best Downloadable Game: Monday Night Combat Best DLC: Lair of the Shadow Broker Best Score: Halo: Reach Best Performance by a Male: Rob Wiethoff (Jon Marston, Red Dead Redemption) Best Performance by a Female: Yvonne Strahovski (Miranda Lawson, Mass Effect 2) Character of the Year: Ezio if I'm confined to their nominees, Illusive Man if I'm not Game of the Year: Red Dead Redemption Couple of things struck me as odd: how does Mario Galaxy 2 make it into the Action Adventure category? And how does Buck get the nomination for Best Performance? He was in Reach for like 10 seconds.
MetalCaveman
Found a better one that didn't lag Now their streaming Rule of Rose for the PS2. Also, am I the only one unreasonably excited for The Elder Scrolls V?
AcidCrownie
Also, am I the only one unreasonably excited for The Elder Scrolls V? Not at all. I feel the same. What's more exciting is that we've heard nothing about the game until this teaser, and BOOM! Fall 2011. <
MetalCaveman
Yeah, that was awesome. Though now 2011 has another game that will eat my money Not a bad thing though, just a sign of many awesome games that will be released next year! \m/
toxicitizen
What possible significance could planet Earth have to the Reapers? Well I would imagine that Shepard's actions in the first two game are, at least partially, to blame for the Reapers bringing the fight to Earth. But yeah, Earth feels pretty insignificant when you look at the bigger picture of the Mass Effect universe/story.
jayc4life
Maybe if the award show was focused more on the awards and not basically a primetime ad for GameTrailers (he'll, they even have Geoff Keighley producing the show, what did we expect?), us gamers might actually respect these. The GDC awards, and maybe the BAFTAs, are the only ones people take seriously. And with good reason. If the writers have to resort to weed and basement-dweller virgin jokes to perpetuate a stereotype, rather than the slightly more sophisticated people we actually are, then of course we're going to roll our eyes and deny their existence. You stay classy, Spike.
iLjaG
I'm partial to the Academy of Interactive Arts and Science Awards myself. As for the VGAs, I thought they were pretty good for a mainstream production. Still a few things to nit pick over, but overall, a solid production imo. My biggest gripe wasn't even with the show itself, but the shortlist of games to vote on. It focused more on, "What are the best selling games this year with the highest metacritic score" as opposed to titles that felt truly deserving. At least, that's my $0.02. At least, that's my $0.02. Actually there was a blog one of the guys tweeted, kinda showed that Super Mario Galaxy 2 was the highest rated game of the year and wasn't even shortlisted. The post was musing about how the games can be reviewed really highly, yet they're apparently not The Game of the Year
