Saturnine Tenshi
I do like the Uncharted stories more, but I also feel like the gameplay was pretty close to shit.
TheMightyEthan
It's not just that though. It's the overall tone. For the most part, Uncharted games are much lighter, zippier. This is definitely true. And I'm not saying I like hate the Uncharted games now or anything. I guess what it is is that I played Uncharted for the exploring and stuff, and the adventure of uncovering an ancient mystery, and Tomb Raider did the exploring better and the combat was infinitely better, so that's why I compare them and why I say I like Tomb Raider better (the overall ancient mystery wasn't as interesting, but the other stuff was enough better to make up for it). It scratches those itches better than Uncharted did, and those itches were the reasons I liked Uncharted in the first place. Regardless, I'll probably still be buying the next Uncharted game for PS4. @WaS: Generally I agree that story trumps gameplay, but for me, even on easier difficulties, Uncharted's combat was this close to being unbearable. It improved significantly between 1 and 2, but it still was definitely something I had to put up with to get to the good parts rather than something I enjoyed doing. I know it's made by a different studio and so isn't really a fair comparison, but I actually thought the combat in Golden Abyss was the best of the Uncharted series (though that game was lacking in the story department). I'm really looking forward to The Last of Us because it looks like it will have a much greater emphasis on stealth over combat, or at least allow you to play that way if you want, and that was one of the things I really really liked about Tomb Raider over Uncharted. Gameplay: Uncharted (I know some people have gripes with the combat, but I still feel, as a whole, combined with the climbing, combat, and exploration, Uncharted wins, though I do love upgrading the gear in Tomb Raider).Cute Lead Character: Tomb Raider (I just want to hold Lara and tell her it's all going to be OK). Thursday Next
Finished this at the weekend. Thought the story was good enough. Traversal was more varied and as such, more fun than Uncharted, but it did also make me feel overpowered. That feeling is fine for a Batman game, but didn't really work for Tomb Raider so much. Indiana Jones, Die Hard and Uncharted always gave you a sense of being almost overwhelmed. The enemies were always better equipped, better armed and you were always scrabbling to keep up. In Tomb Raider I had a tonne of awesome tools and weapons and would often spend my time wondering which I should use to dispatch my foes, rather than having to scramble from cover to cover to reach that shotgun I needed because I was all out of ammo. That said, loved Tomb Raider enough to do all the annoying fetch quests and everything else. I really don't get why they would mark all the relics and documents on your map, but not the mushrooms, cairns, and other things you had to collect. Saturnine Tenshi
I didn't like that there was absolutely no point to gathering the GPS caches. You didn't even get worthwhile XP from them.
Thursday Next
Or indeed anything else really. I'd have preferred doing something for weapon upgrade parts rather than waiting for them to randomly drop. E.g. Finding all GPS caches reveal location of weapon part etc. Edited May 13, 2013 by Thursday Next

Mr. GOH!
Just in case anyone was wondering, I made it past the stupid puzzle on which I was stuck and have beaten the game. I'd give it 3 outta 5. Better than the first hour or so of Uncharted 2, which is all I played of that series.

CorgiShinobi
I haven't even finished my PS3 copy, not to mention I got an artbook with it for $30 months ago. It was $15 during the week of Black Friday, so I'm sure some more people got it then too. Not sure who else would be interested other than very late adopters, and even then you'd have to price it around $30 to make it worth looking at over the last-gen version.
