R__
Who else loves the NES? I just recently got a new one to replace the one I abused horribly as a child, and started recollecting my old games. I love the NES because games were simpler back then, and you didn't have to invest 30 minutes in an intro sequence, and 2 hours in a tutorial level before you could actually play the game for real. What are your favourite NES games? Mine are: Super Mario Bros. 2j (the really fuckin' hard one that came out on FDS and called Lost Levels here) Both Zelda games Mega Man, Castlevania, Double Dragon series Dragon Quest(Warrior) Final Fantasy 3j (the other 2 just don't measure up to that one) ....and many others. slithy toves
when i was a child i was partial to excitebike, super mario bros 3. and (let's not laugh, i was a child) i played the hell out of the NES tiny toons game - i played most often as furrball. the games that i played that have affected me most have probably been the zelda games and dragon warrior, but when those first came out i was a little too young to totally get into them and all of their epicness, though i did replay them when i got older and could enjoy them more fully. Hot Heart
Loved TMNT II: The Arcade Game and Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers as well as Probotector (European version of Contra where they replaced humans with robots).

Was Tiny Toons a bad game or something? The Genesis one was great. I fraking LOVE the NES! I didn't get it until the mid 90s (thank you $5 tag sale find) but I have a lot of games for the NES. Some favorites of mine are: Mario 1,2 &3 (duh) Zelda (again, Duh) Low-G-Man Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest (it gets the least respect but it's my favorite) Thunder and Lightning (This is probably the game my family played the most together) Ducktales! Hells yeah!!!! Godzilla (yeah the game was crappy but as a Godzilla fan in my teens so it was fun to play) Excitebike Dr. Mario: The only game my brother can beat me at. Bouchart
Cool, someone else that has played Snake, Rattle & Roll. The later levels were very difficult.
diedan
Oh man there are so many. The ones I have loved since I was a child: Duck Tales (OMG the music!) Lifeforce (finally finished without the Konami code last summer) Solar Jetman (probably one of the most under-appreciated NES games) R.C. Pro Am (Upgrades!) Micro Machines (yup...who the hell doesn't like racing on a giant table filled with breakfast food!?) Romance of the Three Kingdoms (this is the first real strategy game I played and it taught me how to play games at a slower pace. It was so brilliantly complicated) Defender of the Crown (another foray into the strategy game world) Bionic Commando (no jumping!?) Silkworm (helicopter > tank) Contra (still upset I never recorded my no-death run...) Super C (still haven't finished it) Dr. Mario (this why I have 40 hours in the WiiWare online version) Mario 1, 2, 3 (duh) Mega Man 2 (that Flash Man level...hell yes!) Metroid (favorite non-RPG series, ever) Castlevania (still working on a no-continue run) Kirby's Adventure (I hearts the Kirby) The ones I learned to love later: Final Fantasy Dragon Warrior There are a ton more, I'm sure. Tiny Toons was a great game and an even greater show. Second to Animaniacs for funniest cartoon of our generation. And the spread gun is awesooooome. Battra92
Lifeforce (finally finished without the Konami code last summer) Ever try Stinger? Kirby's Adventure (I hearts the Kirby) This game my sisters and I would play for hours and hours. Great game!
