TheFlyingGerbil
I always thought bangs sounds too dramatic a word just for having your hair cut above your eyes. Mind you the reaction some people have to getting it done maybe it's not dramatic enough
Hot Heart
Well otherwise it would get confusing with bangers and mash. Â
deanb
You guys don't occasionally have mayo with your chips(fries)? We mainly have tomato sauce but yeah mayo is nice to dip your chips in now n then.
TheMightyEthan
That sounds disgusting.
TheFlyingGerbil
I'd eat my chips plain sooner than ruin them with ketchup. I love mayonnaise or coleslaw with chips, but nothing beats chips, cheese and gravy.
TheMightyEthan
Ketchup is the one true topping for fries. That or barbeque sauce.
deanb
Oh man if I'm feeling particularly crappy or out on the town a tray of cheesy chips is lush. Especially if it's crispy around top n sides n gooey in the centre and gotta put effort in pulling the chips from their cheesey tomb
Mr. GOH!
Sriracha kethcup or Srirachi mayo or vinegar or GTFO. Â BBQ sauce is gross to put on fries and only done by weirdos.
Mal
Ya'll uncivilized! Salt and pepper is the one true way to go.
TheMightyEthan
Salt and pepper don't even count as toppings, they're just spices.
Mal
Topping? Never heard ketchup in that context to fries. Salt and pepper, and ketchup are just condiments. Toppings in my mind could stand on their own.
TheMightyEthan
Well okay, condiment, whatever you want to call it, salt and pepper still don't count.
deanb
We'd group tomato, mayo, mustard, etc and salt n pepper as condiments, but S&P definitely in their own class (occasionally with vinegar).

deanb
So based on a joke I made on twitter last night about the EU cookie law being favourited by folks from america, mexico and hong kong does that mean you guys get the same pop-ups too? Thursday Next
It'd be a pain to make it GeoIP specific. Most folk just apply it across the board I think.
TheMightyEthan
I get them on specifically European sites, like RPS, Eurogamer, etc.
deanb
Yeah I figured likely get them on actual European sites, though be rare/unlikely for Americans to purposefully visit. And the bigger global sites (Google, Facebook etc) would be able to Geo IP (even BBC does it which is annoying cos some stuff is from the commercial arm so blocked in UK)
deanb
Here's another one: Casseroles. Ours are sort of like a stew: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/casserole  You'rs seem closer to lasagna if all you had was the Method, but only a vague idea of the ingredients. Or like a cottage pie for some (in the same "got the method, but not the ingredients"). I dunno, I honestly don't know how to describe it. I'll let someone else. It involves soup. TheMightyEthan
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casserole  I think "pie" gives a decent idea of the consistency, though as you said not the ingredients, though even the consistency can vary wildly.  I've had everything from hamburger casserole, which really is like what you might imagine if I said "hamburger pie" to you except it's in a casserole dish, to green bean casserole, which is pretty much just green beans and melted cheese and has a much soupier consistency. TheFlyingGerbil
http://named.publicprofiler.org/ Â Says were your surname is most popular. Worked well for mine as my grandparents emigrated from western Ireland to Glasgow which show as the only two hotspots for my surname. deanb
Oh I tried that names thing. My family name is unsurprisingly focused on the Yorkshire/Durham area, which is not surprising given a town/village bears my name there.
