DEEP BREATH

ACT 1: SCENE 1

A QUARRY IN WALES

The Doctor runs around the TARDISTM waving his Sonic ScrewdriverTM

"I HAVEN'T GOT ANY FUCKING KIDNEYS. WHO THE FUCK REGENERATES SOMEONE WITHOUT ANY TWATTING KIDNEYS"

p.s sorry Hot Heart if you're reading this, I've not done any script writing for nearly a decade, apologies if it's all wrongly laid out.

It's a fair effort!

Scene heading should be EXT. QUARRY, WALES and you need to have dialogue marked as THE DOCTOR/DOCTOR WHO with everything in a slimmer centralised column, and no need for speech marks.

I was actually going to make some joke versions of 'more leaked X-Men Apocalyspe script snippets' but I've been kinda busy with other things, plus they probably wouldn't be that funny.

Fuck, he's aged to 2000 now. I guess I hadn't really been keeping count too much with his time on Trenzalore. I think 11th Doctor spent around 1,100yrs in that form then, more than all others combined. I guess makes sense if he figured it was his last regeneration and he did have two prophecies about his imminent death so could hang around for a while to make sure he tied up the loose ends.

Also something about that trailer makes me think there will be a Dalek companion (he did have Handles)

Oh man it's been a month and I forgot to tell you that it's actually SFX magazine.

Anywho minor thoughts on this episode:

Capaldi was great, the episode itself however never heard of the word subtle. Nice to have the clockwork guys back, but really could have done with a hefty bit of polish.

Yeah, I enjoyed it but it wasn't anywhere near as memorable as Smith's first episode.

Not quite sure how I feel about Capaldi yet either. He's good but so far I've felt like every new Doctor blew the previous one out of the water and there was just something about Smith's run that resonated with me a lot more. It went from being just a show I enjoyed to being one of my favorite things. I guess we'll see if it manages to stay on that level.

One thing I was a bit worried about (and ended up being pleasantly surprised by) was

that it would move away from the darker side of the character that was explored during Smith's run. But that bit near the end with "one of us is lying about his programming" seemed to suggest that won't be happening. It almost seemed to imply they're going to get even darker and I'm all for that.

edit: Or (though it's missing the latest)

50 years of TV technology and style.

edit 2: O h yeah, finally got around to watching the McGann Who. It was actually not half bad at all, obviously some oddity in being a quite US set thing, and there was a moment I momentarily fell a sleep as the Master was going on about the Doctor being half-something. I assume he said half-jelly baby, making a joke and all, and not something like "human". That'd be as stupid as implying timelords are woven on a loom.

Also Eric Roberts is in a lot.

Last nights was miles better, rather liking this new darker doctor. "He's the top layer if you wish to say a few words".

Interested to see where this all goes, especially Missy. Lots of theories on who she is. Main ones seem to be Rani or older/other Clara.

I've heard Mr Pink is meant to be a future companion, could be interesting.

Yeah, episode 2 was great.  Digging the current doctor and the current doctor/companion relationship a lot.  And despite the Daleks getting woefully overused, it was a pretty good Dalek episode too.  Hopefully that's it for them this season.

NOT excited about the Missy thing though.  Both episodes so far have been pretty good and then they'll do this cutaway to "Heaven" which is all the things I didn't like about Matt Smith Doctor who combined.  Weird wife/girlfriend relationship with the Doctor?  Check.  Season long mystery that gets in the way of my adventure romping fun?  Looks like it.  Stephen Moffat loving his monsters and never ever actually being able to kill one of them?  Yep, looks like they'll all just hang out in heaven to come back for the finale.

But the actual episodes are super good, and so far they seem to have pretty much nothing to do with this Missy/Heaven nonsense.  The longer that continues to be the case, the better.

At least it's not in Victorian London. I like the Paternoster gang (damn did Jenny look good in Deep Breath), but holy shit, give us a new era and location.

EDIT: Also do we know why they're called the Paternoster gang? I'm assuming this is some sort of reference to London or the era that I'm not aware of?
