Chronixal
Not now but I noticed the option wasn't there when I was editing one earlier. I don't think it could hurt to give the user the option.
Showmeyomoves!
Testing... *edit* Hmm, nope. In the Old Country you could only delete a post if no one had replied to it yet (to keep consistency). I guess a feature like that would be useful. Of course, you could just always edit your post to "Nothing to see here".

deanb
We've enabled a way that you should be able to invisible your post. Seeing as there's no limits on deletes Tali feels folks could abuse it and there would be no way for the moderation team to see if anyone had being provoking. This way the posts are still there and the mods can pop up, or reverse the choice. We also have a count on the index which says '## posts in queue' so we'll know. However do not abuse this function or you will be reprimanded and we may switch it back off.
brida
Abuse deleting own posts, seriously? It's a feature a good deal of forums have. Edit: I still do not see where the option is.
Pheermee
Is there anyway we can keep people form making a bazillion alts? I think there are a few of us with alts already.
Showmeyomoves!
Did the Test Dummy just annihilate my post?
deanb
Abuse deleting own posts, seriously? It's a feature a good deal of forums have. Edit: I still do not see where the option is. It's Tali's decision to not have a full delete. So you can ask her about it. I think it's valid reasoning. I however have fished in the system and enabled the setting for the soft delete which I'm sure is a good compromise on no delete at all? As for it not working: Turns out I chose 'can restore soft delete' instead of 'can soft delete'. There's a shit ton of options and switches to toggle, I just didn't line up my 'Yes' click. Edit: Test Dummy is the Admins alt. I used it to figure out what you guys could and couldn't see since Brida pointed out it hadn't worked. It was me who wiped your comment smovoes I'd direct your attention to our rules. Other alts at the moment we're unaware of. Jaques may be Mudkips alt but we're 50:50 on that and Chocobo wasn't an alt but you will no longer see her. I'm unsure on Commander Shepard I think that's Tali messing around. brida
I'm not complaining over not having the 'full' feature but just over how you seem to think you need to warn us not to abuse it like it's not something a good deal of, if not most forums, have. Anyway let's see if the feature actually appears now... edit: I see it.

brida
..but you'd be able to see that that was the case, no? It's not foolproof to just delete a post...especially with stuff like that, people quote it, etc.

deanb
We see it if it's a soft delete. (which is what you guys now have) Hard deletes are for keeps.
brida
Oh shit deleting a whole thread? Damn.
Mister Jack
Couldn't we do that with the old one?
Mister Jack
I just tried to delete the above post as a test and it didn't work. Also we need a Meat Boy rank.
iLjaG
Is there any way to "mark forum as read"? I know it exists for the individual sub forums, but can it exists for the forums as a whole? I'm too lazy to check retro and mobile forums just to stop them from lighting up. TheMightyEthan
I think you're just gonna have to do what I do and learn to live with the forums you don't check being lit up.
AcidCrownie
Alternatively, if nothing you want to check is lit up, there's a "Mark Board As Read" clicky at the bottom of the page that clears anything that's lit up.
iLjaG
ohey, that works. That's the most obscure, hidden fucking "mark as read" button ever. But it gets the job done.
Mister Jack
Could we get a heart? Just a regular, plain old heart.
King Jimmeh
ohey, that works. That's the most obscure, hidden fucking "mark as read" button ever. But it gets the job done. It is pretty well hidden. Alternatively if ya go through "View New Content", there's a mark all read link at the top of that list.
Showmeyomoves!
Chocobo wasn't an alt but you will no longer see her. *puts 2 + 2 together* Aaaaah... I see.
