Mal
After everything is said and done it will be around $110. Not cheap but hey... its close enough to a Benjamin... also there are ones from OCZ for $50 and $80 for 30GB and 60 GB. The previous model. I'm not too comfortable buying the previous models. Also, I thought the Windows 7 Student discount was for the full version, not an upgrade... eh... :U My college's store is closed now so I'm stuck but... I might go with Amazon with this one. I get free shipping there... Edited December 21, 2010 by MaliciousH

TheForgetfulBrain
For the past few months, at random times the fan attached to my CPU stops spinning, rendering my computer essentially unusable. Just did it again this morning. Usually, I just have to crack open my case, poke around, press down on the CPU area and give the fan a flick or two, and it magically starts whirring again. Fingers crossed that's all I have to do right now - I don't have a computer store place I trust to take my computer it, with all the work information I have on there, and I'm not techy enough to replace a CPU fan if that's what I need - I don't actually even know if that's the problem. Worrisome every time this happens, because I figure eventually it's just going to stop spinning so that I can't start it up again with random poking. Any idea why it keeps doing this? I'm guessing loose connection somewhere, but for the life of me have no idea.
TheForgetfulBrain
Pheer, I'm having trouble getting Windows 7 64-bit to recognize the dualshock, even with MotionInJoy. Any tips? I have the same OS and I got it working just fine - a couple of days ago, in fact (to get the Steam Zombie Driver objective, haa). You definitely need to install the new drivers - they're a loooot easier to install now that it's digitally signed and you don't need to muck around in the boot menu. I was just looking and can't find the guide I used, but there's a great updated guide out there that walks you through the complicated process of correctly installing the drivers. Are you using Bluetooth? Because I'm using the USB cable you charge your PS3 controller on your PS3 with, and that's been working dandy. Yeah my first move in trying to get it working would of been to go to the site and check for any updates. You want to give them a spin? Report back (Since I'm somewhat interested in DS3 working on 64-bit windows) It works great once you get it working - I was using it to play Super Meat Boy last night and it was very responsive and great. Mister Jack
Pheer, for some reason any jpegs I download don't show up on my desktop like I told them to, but somehow they're still listed as being on my desktop. What's going on? This seems to be for .png files too. Probably all pictures. I downloaded a .wav and that showed up just fine.
Pheermee
@Brain get a new fan. They are cheap and very simple to instal. Just look at how the one you have now plugs in and plug the new fan the same way. @Jack Is it only jpegs and is it only your desktop? Mister Jack
I made a test folder and downloaded a picture of my avatar. It showed up there. Downloading it directly to the desktop still doesn't work. Edit: Ok, if I refresh the desktop the stuff shows up, but it doesn't show up automatically. Mister Jack
It was this morning, but I did it again and it seems ok now. I don't know what could have happened between this morning and a couple hours ago to screw it up, but to hell with it.
Mal
Okay Pheer, tonight I have a real problem. I just built my computer and it runs like a dream but I have no sound. I can get sound from my headphones but not my speakers. I may be able to figure this out when I wake up rested but some help will be nice. Edit: Fixed.
