TheMightyEthan
So, as you may have guessed, this is a thread for people to list what games they've beat in 2011. Please only list games you've never beat before this year, games you've beat before and then played again don't count. Also feel free to add thoughts on it. I'll start: 3D Dot Game Heroes. It was a lot of fun, more than I expected. Even though it was marketed as a parody, and it clearly is actually a parody, it's a surprisingly solid game on its own merits. I loved all the references to old games strewn throughout, and there was one at the end in particular that was my favorite (minor minor spoiler):
Bouchart
Vagrant Story. I played most of it in 2010 but just finished it on the 2nd. If you skip a single cutscene you will have no clue what the plot is. It was a unique game but some parts dragged on a little. Also the game is difficult to learn. I'll get around to a second playthrough at some time; there's a dungeon only available after the first playthrough.
Can
I finished a game of Victoria 2 and Mount & Blade Warband on the same day (yesterday). Also finally finished WiC:SovAssault on Very Hard, achieving all the medals (today). That's real completion there. Not some pansy run-through on Normal. Mal
So far... Crysis Warhead. I finished Crysis and Mass Effect a few days before New Years so... close but no cigar. Seriously, I haven't beaten this much games in a LONG time.
Hot Heart
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is all so far.
Strangelove
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and I think maybe RDR, but that could have been last year. I dunno.
Yantelope
Can't this thread be "Games you just beat"
Battra92
Can't this thread be "Games you just beat" Yeah, we're not even a week into the year ...
deanb
Except the title differentiates from the 2010 list, and means people won't go post a list of all the games they've beat. Point of the thread is when you beat a game from 5 days ago onward for 364 days you pop in here n do a swagger n declare how you just totally destroyed Barbie Princess Pony Stable
diedan
I totally just destroyed Barbie Princess Pony Stable. ... I WISH! ... I'll be quiet now...
Zuzela
It's probably a bad decision to now step up and say that I own a Barbie PC game. It is old though. But still. Anyway, in a desperate attempt to stay on-topic, I played through Samorost 1 and 2 (the 2nd on Steam) yesterday. 'Twas good.
Hot Heart
No one beats Barbie Princess Pony Stable. They merely horse around.
toxicitizen
Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City - The Lost And Damned Bought it about a month ago and played most of it before the holidays, but got stuck on that stupid drug mule level and stopped. Then I started playing again on the 1st and managed to finish it before heading to a relative's house for new year dinner. Haven't started Ballad of Gay Tony yet, and with school starting this week I don't really foresee finishing another game for a while. Hot Heart
I enjoyed TLatD but got pissed off with TBoGT when I had to learn some other shitty game mechanic during something like the second or third mission (one involving boats and bombs). Rockstar should quit that shit.
Battra92
No one beats Barbie Princess Pony Stable. They merely horse around. ... but probably not in the way you're thinking.
Goldwings
I just finished Cing's sequel to Hotel Dusk, Last Window: The Secret of Cape West. I shipped a EU copy because I have yet to hear a NA date for this game. I think it's safe to say that I was okay spending $60 for it... yeah. diedan
Do Flash games count? Because I totally just got 100% on K.O.L.M., although it took me 37:17 and I died enough times my score was only 4160.
RadiantViper
Just finished Enslaved and Splinter Cell: Conviction. Enslaved is gorgeous and has neat characters, and the gameplay isn't bad ... but the stuttering framerate was pretty disappointing. Splinter Cell has some neat gameplay mechanics, but I found myself getting frustrated during the story mode since it's kinda linear, kept getting killed in IMO poorly designed rooms. On the flip side, I'm playing the 'Hunter' game mode now, where it's just about clearing out enemies as efficiently as possible (no plot), and it's a lot more fun. More room to breath, and games always seem better when you do well at them. Edited January 8, 2011 by RadiantViper
SkyGriever
I beat Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and I think my next one will be Heavy Rain...
Nexus
I just beat Uncharted 2. Only got it yesterday. Yay.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Starcraft 2 Episode 1 last night. I enjoyed the campaign but the ending was a bit flat compared to the rest of it.
