Yantelope
Yeah, the uses of the DS were cool without getting in the way of the game and using the stylus for everything was surprisingly effective. I still would have liked the option to use the d-pad though.
TheMightyEthan
There's a Phantom Hourglass rom floating around that's hacked to let you use the d-pad.
Yantelope
Nice, I guess I need to get an R4 for that then.

toxicitizen
Rock Band 3 I know how that sounds, but when I beat the last Road Challenge a few days ago, I got a message that said like "Congratulations on beating Rock band 3" and then the credits rolled. So there. What's weird is that the Road Challenges felt more like kind of a side thing. They're tour that your band goes on, from local venues to eventually worldwide ones. But they're found under the Quick Play menu. The "proper" Career mode, on the other hand, is basically just a list of challenges for every instruments, difficulties and game modes. They almost feel like achievements/trophies at times. Like "Hit x% of notes in x amount of songs" or "5 Star x amount of songs on Hard Difficulty". Though by playing them you receive unlockables and fans. Feels sort of backwards, if you ask me... Edited February 8, 2011 by FLD

toxicitizen
Dead Space 2. I knew I couldn't be far from the end, so I started playing tonight with the intent of not stopping until I had beaten it. Mission accomplished. I'm still not sure if I liked it better than the first one, but it was still an amazing game. Now I wanna play Extraction, but I also ordered 3D Dot Game Heroes and Red Dead Redemption friday night, so I should be getting them Wednesday at the latest. So, I don't want to start Extraction but not have enough time to finish it before RDR gets here, because I just know I'll have to put that game in the second it gets here. Must... decision... make! Jackpot
Oh man, I've beaten a lot of games this year. Shadow of the Colossus, Ghost Trick, Bioshock, Trine, and Final Fantasy VI are the ones I can think of. I'm so close to beating God of War... WTF
Majin & The Forsaken Kingdom, Dead Space 2, LBP2 -Story Mode aced, collected all shit etc, Sly Trilogy, Stacking, Game Dev Story (Man this is one game I really wish they didn't do a new game plus - for an obsessive collective it made new game plus far too easy), Mario's anniversary collection Birth By Sleep that's all I can recall right now. On the verge of finishing several titles soon though (I hope).
SomTervo
Dead Space 2. I knew I couldn't be far from the end, so I started playing tonight with the intent of not stopping until I had beaten it. Mission accomplished! Bro, I did exactly the same thing, but with an essay due. It was Tuesday night, essay due Thursday, I knew I wouldnt get any work done on the Wednesday if I didn't have Dead Space 2 finished and out of mind- so I stayed up until literally 0600 Wednesday morning just doing Dead Space 2 to the end. Got the essay done to great success. I loved it. It's very different from the first game, it puts a bit more emphasis on the characters and plot, rather than the original's focus on general atmosphere and background. But I thought the second was more replayable and entertaining as a 'game', where the first was best as an 'experience'. Oh man, I've beaten a lot of games this year. Shadow of the Colossus, Ghost Trick, Bioshock, Trine, and Final Fantasy VI are the ones I can think of. I'm so close to beating God of War... Enjoy Shadow of the Colossus? So refreshing to see someone just discovering it! Majin & The Forsaken Kingdom, LBP2 -Story Mode aced, collected all shit etc, Is Majin good? I might order it in on my Lovefilm. Little Big Planet 2 also, worth a get? I've got the first one, and I like it but couldn't get into it much. I feel I'd get much more into the second one, and it's game dev tools as well. I love some of the features like circuit boards. TL;DR: My list is Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. (Very good, but nowhere near perfection) Dead Space 2. (Great, really awesome and entertaining) I've played so many games but not been able to reach the end of any...
WTF
Majin was cheap it's a loveletter to adventure gaming from the ps2 gen. It has it's flaws but is quite an enjoyable Zelda room dungeon based partner ai platformer. Lbp2 is way better than lbp1 and there's way too much content and some rxellent levels. Controls arethe same and grabinator rocks while grapple sucks and is sometimes worse than jumps but when in doubt press r1. I enjoyed the game with friends. But it's ok for solo too. excel_excel
Half Life 2 Episode 1. Hmm, not as epic as the first and no new weapons or anything. Still its pacing is great, but that bloody annoying ending. I was disappoint. But Alyx was just awesome in everything part. She was just perfectly acted and scripted. The time where she pretends to be a zombie was brilliant Edited February 15, 2011 by excel_excel
deanb
There's no new weapons in either apart from the super-Grav gun and I guess to a degree the anti-strider bombs.

Yantelope
Beat Medal of Honor last night. I quite enjoyed it. My first multiplayer experience was awful but the single player was fun. I also beat Metro 2033 last night. So there were two endings? I had no idea this game had a morality system until I read about it online. I'm not gonna play it again just to get the better ending
