Games You've Beat in 2011

Yep, most games are terrible. 90% of everything is shit. Saying it's not as bad as other games doesn't make a boring game less boring though.

Obviously me thinking it's boring is just a matter of opinion though, which you're free to disagree with. And like I said, the atmosphere was great. I wanted to like it so much, but like Bioshock I couldn't force myself to be subjected to the bad gameplay for the awesome setting.

I didn't like that sneaking around meant zilch when dealing with monsters, and the whole concept of the "Dark Ones" wasn't really explained. I can understand maintaining a scope of mysteriousness because people find that enticing. Still, I wanted to know more.

Wrt gameplay, another thing that bothered me was the "waves". And the "escort" mission. God, I despise children.

Typically, I stray from anything even moderately scary in the slightest form, but Metro 2033 kept me involved enough to want to persevere. Much more than slop like Halo or Call of Duty SP.

Of course, all of this is subjective. THIS IS HOW WE ROLL!

Nier.

Very cool. There were more than a couple of shortcomings, but not enough to stop me from hitting up a new game+ at some point in the near-future (see what I didn't do there?), maybe even go platinum chasing. I hear it's really time consuming though.

Wow, this is only the second time I've posted here... It's May. I should be ashamed, considering how many games I've begun this year.

Also, I just finished AC:B. I think it was mostly a waste of time and didn't really further the story much. I still really like AC but this game was more of a cash in than an addition to the series.

Wow. I differ in opinion almost completely.

While the story doesn't progress much, as it's a sort of .5 iteration, it still is interesting. The Truth was great, and the end of Desmond's storyline was pretty damn sweet, and is going to leave people hanging on the next game if they haven't played it.

On it being a cash in? Pfff. While the story wasn't the best for progression, the gameplay was goddamn superb. The open-world level was better than any of the levels in the other AC games, the side-missions were given more incentive and made far more interesting and challenging, the story missions were all incredibly varied, and were more 'gamey' than any of the ACII stuff.

I loved it. The combat was still piss-easy, but was also better. It had some actual puzzles in it, that were satisfying to work out. I love how they added incentive and so much more content- this kept me playing for far longer, and made moving around the game world actual feel purposeful.

The multiplayer as well- great. You have to have the right attitude- to go for stealth/quality of kills rather than quantity- but once you've worked out how it goes it's great.

On-topic: I've completed loads of stuff but I can barely remember any of it, jeez. Halo: Reach. Fight Night: Champion. Bulletstorm. Mafia II. Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway. Others, too, but I can't remember...
