Saturnine Tenshi
I think trophies are a good benchmark for how much of the content I've seen. Got a platinum? Then I've probably done most everything I want to do with the game. The issue with that is so much of it is going to be repetition, filler, or just boring. Very few games are fun to platinum outside of the need for completeness Pretty much this. Although Rorona is often regarded as a "hard" platinum title, and it's pretty fun to plat. It's all of the stuff I would do wrt an RPG anyway.
FredEffinChopin
Bayonetta. Some of the best head-bashing of my video game career, I must say. Despite all the weirdness about the presentation of the story, I actually really enjoyed that aspect of it also, right down to the credits... except for ***SPOILER the dance that she does after everything is done.... I've never felt so uncomfortable in my own skin before SPOILER*** *edit* That wasn't really a spoiler, was it... >.> Edited July 15, 2011 by FredEffinChopin

Don't get me wrong, Brenda Lee was great but it felt out of place as a song choice.

Very few games are fun to platinum outside of the need for completeness Like I say, it's just a bench mark. Some of it, like complete on easy / medium / hard has no bearing on content, just as collect all the (effing) blast shards on inFamous is pointless from a content perspective (though you could argue that it ensures that you've visited every corner of the world. With, for example Heavy Rain, it's a good way of knowing that you've seen everything there is to see.
Hocking
I've just finished Portal 2 and the only word I am left with is awesome.
Strangelove
I finished Infamous 2 last night with good karma. Great game, underwhelming ending. It was a good ending, just cut kind of short.
Hot Heart
I really liked the good ending to inFAMOUS 2. It's just a shame the rest of the story is a bit lacklustre.
Strangelove
I liked the overall story. Its just that the Beast isnt really the focal point of 95% of the game. It comes and goes quickly.
Battra92
It's been a short list for me this year but add Jamestown to that list. I really liked this game and I played most of it with an SNES controller. I decided after learning lots of new swear words at the end to use a controller with an analog stick (I used the Nyko Core PS3 controller) and it was like playing a much easier game. Either that or I was more "in the zone" this morning than I was last night. Great game and I recommend it. 2011 Beaten so far: (Mike Tyson's) Punch-Out Bayonetta Thunder and Lightning Punch-Out. excel_excel
Finished Chrono Trigger DS yesterday. What a gem. It seems everything just went right for that game. Great memorable characters, epic story, perfect battle system, interesting and unique world to explore and the sidequests are brilliant. Strangelove
Finished Hard Corps Uprising. Really good game. Im not gonna lie though, I had to farm Cp to beat it. If it didnt have Rising mode I would have never bought it.
Saturnine Tenshi
Obtained the first ending for Nier. I'm on the way to platinum and, consequently, unearth the remainder of the story. So there's that. Three more endings to go. Had some funds in my wallet, so I downloaded the quest for his wife. If it continues on this course, I'll say it's my second favorite current-gen affair. RPGamer used this wording when discussing Nier, and I think it's appropriate: "Much better than the sum of its parts." Mercurial
Just finished the sly collection. Platinumed the 1st 2 games and about 60% on the 3rd one.
Trjn
I honestly can't remember what I've finished before June, but since the last week of June, I've finished: Infamous, Uncharted 2 and Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty. Oh and there was Homefront a little bit before then as well. Probably didn't beat too much else this year though. Had a pretty poor start to things after playing a lot during the end of last year. Battra92
Last night I beat Sexy Parodius. It certainly was bizarre but I was expected a more difficult game. Oh well. I liked it just the same. For those wondering, I played as Hiraku: (Mike Tyson's) Punch-Out Bayonetta Thunder and Lightning Punch-Out. deanb
I got Space Victory in Civ V. My first civ I've ran to end on it, so I guess it counts as beating it. Edinburgh (a city-state) wanted a road/trade route to my capital. Edinburgh was on the other side of the continent. In-between was Arabia. Several turns later there wasn't. Yep I wiped out a civilization cos Edinburgh wanted a road.

Yep I wiped out a civilization cos Edinburgh wanted a road. Honestly in Civ 5, Space Race victory is far too easy. I acheived it in first go. They rebalanced it so that Space Race is easier to acheive. I remember feeling great when i got it in Civ5 since that's my goal with each Civ, however everyone who's played any civ gets it with ease. In this one cultural victories are harder to an extent. On another note, Finished LA Noir DLC and SOTD in Hard (Legion Hunter) mode. Now to finish off in easy mode after a few weeks. edit: and to finish off in normal mode as well. Edited July 20, 2011 by WTF
deanb
I may have hit a bug though which extended the time it took. I couldn't build the parts in other cities and move them to my capital. Just got the red no-go circle when I tried. So had to destroy all that I'd made and build it bit by bit in my capital. IU also couldn't put planes on my carriers, so I'm thinking I may have just hit upon a bug (it was an old save on the new uber-patch mind)

I ran into quite a few bugs but almost always loading 5-10 saves before resolved them. (Usually keep 25 saves just for safety in civ due to time investment). Saturnine Tenshi
Obtained all endings in NieR. I feel like the the second through fourth endings should have been combined into something less disappointing.
Yantelope
Finally finished Crysis 2. I found it quite enjoyable. It's one of the best shooters I've played in a little while.
toxicitizen
Been a while since I posted here. I've mostly been trophy hunting in previously completed games for the past few weeks. Anyway, I platinum'd BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger today. Normally a fighting game can't really be completed in the normal sense, but this one has a pretty deep ( for a fighting game) story mode and after playing through every character's story, I finally unlocked and played the True Ending story today. So I count that as beating it.
Battra92
Kirby's Dream Land. I never played this version as I never had a Game Boy growing up (my first GB was a GB pocket when I was in high school) and by then I just never seemed to pick up Kirby's Dream Land. My fiancee owned it and since our collections are now merged I acquired the cart of this game. Annoyingly enough, there's no save on this so you have to play it all in one sitting. There is a continue but I never had to use it. It was super easy and actually since my first Kirby game was the fantastic Kirby's Adventure, Dream Land comes across as a rather bland start to the series. Is Dream Land 2 worth hunting down? On a side note, I really need to organize my GB/GBC games better. 2011 Beaten so far: (Mike Tyson's) Punch-Out Bayonetta Thunder and Lightning Gunstar Super Heroes Jamestown
Saturnine Tenshi
Fuuko ending in Clannad. I'm working on the rest, but I doubt I'll get that far before I move. Still debating deleting my pirated games before crossing the border... Also considering inFAMOUS 2 before I leave, since it belongs to my roommate.
