Hocking
Finished up Hitman: Bloody Money in the early hours of this morning before heading to bed. Third or fourth time I've beaten it, brilliant game.
FredEffinChopin
Alice: Madness Returns It was neat. Seems like an easy platinum that normally I'd go for, but I don't know if I can sit through the whole thing again just yet... I don't know if it's just me, but the game was longer than I expected. I'm thinking I'll have to let this one go in favor of playing new titles, and working on my Fight Night Champion online stats.
Yantelope
Is Dream Land 2 worth hunting down? Yes. I love Dream Land 2. It's the first time you get the animals. It's also a little tough to get the real ending so it's fun.
toxicitizen
Finished up Hitman: Bloody Money in the early hours of this morning before heading to bed. Third or fourth time I've beaten it, brilliant game. Brilliant game indeed. I am seriously nervous about the new Hitman game living up to it. Blood Money seemed to have perfected the formula, and now they're shaking things up a bit. Hopefully, it'll all be for the best. But really, when does that ever happen? Yantelope
I too loved Blood Money. The best part is pushing the guy into the gator pond. Edited July 28, 2011 by Yantelope
Hocking
Haha yeah, that's pretty amusing. I went a little overboard with it yesterday though, I kept fouling it up in that area thanks to the guards. So I eventually just took them all as human shields to knock them out and simply threw them to the gators while I waited for the target to come feed them. Amazingly, they all counted as accidents and I ended up with a Silent Assassin rating. Brilliant game indeed. I am seriously nervous about the new Hitman game living up to it. Blood Money seemed to have perfected the formula, and now they're shaking things up a bit. Hopefully, it'll all be for the best. But really, when does that ever happen? Likewise, I'm pretty worried they're going to turn it into Splinter Cell: Agent 47. Apparently they're using a system very much like the mark and execute from SC: Conviction. As much as I liked that in Conviction, I wouldn't so much like to see it in the next Hitman. The trailer also worries me somewhat, as Agent 47 assaults his way to the woman in the shower. Trying that in any of the previous games gets you killed, fast. Edited July 28, 2011 by Hocking
Strangelove
Well, I beat Catherine last night. Awesome game. Got the "Bad Lover" ending. Im struggling to read what the other endings are. I kind of want to play again and see them myself.
CorgiShinobi
Figure I'll put my status of defeating Catherine in the thread too. Last night, on Normal difficulty I received the True Lovers ending. It was my "honest" run, so I was answering all the questions as if there wasn't an ulterior motive behind it all. toxicitizen
Just beat VVVVVV a few minutes ago. Such an awesome game. Even if all the other games end up sucking, I'll still be glad I got the humble bundle for it.
Battra92
The Sega Genesis version of Truxton. I confess I used Game Genie. No, I don't care. Truxton was downright CHEAP! The end boss had a vagina for a mouth. That was weird 2011 Beaten so far: (Mike Tyson's) Punch-Out Bayonetta Thunder and Lightning Gunstar Super Heroes Jamestown Kirby's Dream Land. Luftwaffles
Just beat VVVVVV a few minutes ago. Such an awesome game. Even if all the other games end up sucking, I'll still be glad I got the humble bundle for it. Every time I play VVVVVV it just reminds me that I am absolutely awful at platformers. Honestly, I didn't really enjoy the gameplay all that much (250+ deaths, exponentially more expletives in about an hour), but I kept playing for the music, which is just amazing. And don't worry about the rest of the bundle sucking. I can personally vouch that Atom Zombie Smasher is probably worth whatever you paid for it alone. toxicitizen
Yeah, I tried Atom Zombie yesterday and it's pretty cool. Though I'm afraid I won't be very good at it once the difficulty spikes up. As for VVVVVV, for some reason the punishing gameplay never really got to me. I beat it in a single sitting and died over 1200 times in the process but it never pissed me off (that's rather uncharacteristic for me. I tend to rage something fierce when faced with repeated failure. I'm kind of amazed that I never broke a single controller in my life). Johnny
That's kind of the core genius in VVVVVV's level design. It is smartly checkpointed so that there is practically no punishment for failing; you just get up, immediately respawn (most often on the same screen) and try again. toxicitizen
Yeah, pretty much that combined with the fact that everything the game ask of you is pretty simple. When you fail, it's not the game being cheap or anything like that. It's very clear that you failed because your reflexes or precision were lacking.

Luftwaffles
Assassin's Creed 2 (What. The. Fuck?) The ending, yeah? Now get on to Brotherhood. I liked it more than AssCreed2, honestly and it's an excellent continuation.

I liked it more than AssCreed2, honestly and it's an excellent continuation. Gameplay-wise, I agree. Brotherhood is an improvement over II in every aspect. But speaking strictly about the plot and ending, I preferred II by a wide margin. The ending of ACII was just a huge "Holy shit!" moment for me. Also, I love me a good cliffhanger. I found ACB's ending to be lacking in that department.

I found ACB's ending to be lacking in that department. There's a certain part of me that's always enjoyed the weird sci-fi type of backstory to the AC games, and I certainly liked how Brotherhood delivered and developed that. The beginning of Brotherhood as well, when you were running around the Auditore Villa years after Ezio came through was also kinda neat, even if the "puzzles" and the dialog were repetitive. Spoiler tag'd just in case.

I also liked that more of the plot was set in the present. That's something I missed in ACII. Edited August 10, 2011 by FLD
