TheMightyEthan
lol, yes, and I've played some of those too. See: the top of this page.
TheMightyEthan
So I went to make a list of the games that I beat this year that actually came out this year. It's pretty pathetic:  Skyward Sword Portal 2 Catherine LA Noire From Dust Homefront World of Keflings Stacking  I'm going to blame that on the fact that I spent a solid 3 months studying for the bar and not having time to play games. Strangelove
Everyone talked shit about LA Noire a week after it came out, but for 20 bucks is it good? I hear a lot of comparison to Heavy Rain and I loved Heavy Rain? Anyone recommend it? What about the dlc? Is it worth shelling out for the complete edition instead of the normal version? TheMightyEthan
I flipping loved LA Noire for $60. As for the DLC, it really depends on how much you like the game, because the DLC is just more cases.
deanb
I wasn't best impressed. Not that I was looking forward to it much. Felt a bit too linear and simplistic. Most of the detective mechanics were in the interrogation and it didn't work out too well because Cole was majorly unpredictable (dDubt was as good as using Accuse many times) and the actors were too awesome. I wouldn't compare it with Heavy Rain at all though. As I said when I beat it I think if you're wanting a crime game the CSI games feel much better, if you're wanting open world game don't even touch it. But if a story set in LA 1950's is something you want then go for it. It's not a terrible game, just underwhelming.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, there were some serious problems with the interrogations. I actually saw a post about it recently on I think Joystiq.
Hot Heart
Best crime games are the Law & Order ones because of Lenny Briscoe and this every time there is a scene change. Â Â As for LA Noire, yeah, it is very much an 'experience' more than a game. And you'd have to like the setting to really get into it. Battra92
I'm going to blame that on the fact that I spent a solid 3 months studying for the bar and not having time to play games. Â I'd like to blame my wedding on why my list is so short but I put it down to apathy and having to work a lot (and a wife who likes to monopolize the TV)
excel_excel
Finished Arkham City on PS3 last night. Enjoyed it thoroughly despite how silly the story got
Hot Heart
Yeah, I've not finished it, but I must be a fair way through and a lot of it feels a bit too contrived.
TCP
I enjoyed it. I'm not a comic book fan or a Batman fan, apart from the Nolan movies, so I had to take the plot with a grain of salt, but the combat and gameplay made up for that, in my mind at least. Though there was a few characters I had never heard of before, most notably Talia. I am assuming her father was Liam Neeson from Batman Begins? I don't remember him having a daughter. Once I started playing a lot of the sidequests, the excitement of some of the characters being there was lost on me.
Faiblesse Des Sens
I don't remember him having a daughter. Â There's a whole big Batman world out there. Nolan barely shows any of it.
deanb
Yep. Nolans Batman is a great film adaptation, but because of his kinda strict rules on being slightly more realistic many of the rouges gallery never show up and never will. Lazarus pits don't even get so much as a squeak in Batman Begins despite Ra's Al Ghul being in.

Hot Heart
Rumor has it they'll play some part in The Dark Knight Rises, though   I really hope they don't. The sightings of Liam Neeson on set could've been for flashbacks. Other rumours are that Bane might be linked to The League of Shadows.

Watch The Animated Series if you're curious about Ra's Al Ghul's daughter, she's in it (though I can't tell you which parts to watch if that's all you're interested in, as I don't remember). Cyber Rat
Batman the Animated Series as a whole has some amazing episodes, so it's worth watching if you're into Batman. I think it's one of my favorite Western cartoons ever (the episodes A Bullet for Bullock and Heart of Ice are amazing). Saturnine Tenshi
Finally finished Skyrim. I still don't agree with the price of the game, but at least Bethesda does more than many developers/producvers when it comes to PC games. TCP
I was never able to get into it as a kid, but maybe I'll give it another chance after I finish Fringe in a few weeks.
Hot Heart
My problem with Batman TAS is I have to remember that it's for kids because, otherwise, the writing just makes my eyes roll. Although I think Dini, the writer behind Asylum and Arkham City, did pen some of the more interesting episodes, and you can usually tell they're his because they play around with structure. Â Visually, is it amazing and, of course, the music is great. It just irks me to see Batman do an face or fail in some of the ways he does. That's probably more down to the comics and films though. Interesting that the series spawned Renee Montoya and Harley Quinn though. Â Anyway, if I recall, Talia's first appearance is in Off Balance, which was a fairly good episode. Cyber Rat
Harley originated from TAS. Mr. Freeze's whole backstory also originates from there. (He was previously just a random villain with an ice gimmick in the Adam West show and comics, afaik.)
