Internet Facebook Friends

I've got my mum on facebook. You've got to keep an eye on them these days, you just don't know what they might get up to.

I did get a parental block, but despite the name...

Haa, my parents don't have Facebook, but I do have my mom on Steam (for when she plays Puzzle Quest or Bookworm Adventures), so I talk to her on there sometimes.

It's kind of funny.

But then everyone will know that my Facebook status updates are mostly the same as my TAY status updates!? I currently don't have any Internet friends as FB friends. I think I have...mixed feelings about it?

And my Mom is totally on Facebook. Doesn't bother me at all.

My parents work at a school and they refuse to have a facebook because, inevitably, some kid will find it and try to add them. It's bad enough you have to run into the little turds at the grocery store and Walmart but can't there be some solace online?

I used facebook about six years ago when it was in its infancy. Eventually I grew bored with reading such trivial details about peoples' lives and deleted my account.

I have over 150 friends, I think about 130 of those are hidden from my news feed.

The interesting people win my attention.

Get to know more interesting people. ;)

That was back in college, in my extremely antisocial days. I've gotten a little better since then but not too much.

See if there's folks I'm not bothered with. I just delete them. I do have quite a few on twitter where the 'interesting' rule comes in to place. Not interesting, then I ain't following.

Of course had I done similar on Facebook I'd no doubt get shit for unfriending my brother :P

I would do that, but I always get this nagging feeling like "What if I ever want to talk to them one day?! I don't want to have to hunt them down again!" I don't mind them being there. It's like they aren't anyway while they are hidden. xD

Meh? I have like 240ish FB friends and I only hide a handful of them. People who write silly things about their lives are ignored. Most everyone else just writes little bits about their lives that I find interesting.

I mostly I use it to stay in contact with some people (I mean, wouldn't have a relationship with my 18 year old brother without Facebook. He's 10 years younger than me and lives 6 hours away and we both hate the phone). Or to make plans with friends. I don't know how many times I've just thrown out, "I'm going to go to X; who's in!?" and get at least a handful of people to come out. And, sure, I can call people and make plans, but I like the spontaneity, not to mention the random assortment of friends that decide to hang out that otherwise wouldn't know each other.

Other than that, people throw up funny/interesting/insightful links/articles, and that's cool too. Or it's just a group of us being silly online. Either way, I have a blast with it.

Aaaaaanywho...I've decided I'd totes be down with having some internet friends as internet friends on a different part of the internet. As long as you won't track me down and murder me, that is. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. :|
