What gaming systems do you own?

I'd like to have a PS4 at launch, but if I'm not sure I can afford it come November, I may cancel my pre-order. It's why I'm delaying Arkham Origins and anything else. I got Pokemon Y because I saved a gift card I had and used some discounts, so I also got a Nintendo eShop card. Not realizing The Wolf Among Us was out, I'm thinking I should have gotten a Steam card instead.

Console launches are never all of that great anyways IMO. Wait a year for the really good titles to come out and pick up the launch titles you missed on the cheap. And the console should have most of its features by then like all of the Gaikai stuff that won't work until 2014.

I usually wait for a price drop (maybe two) and at least ten games before I'll bite on a new console.  Hasn't failed me yet.

IMHO you're usually best to get in early with PlayStation consoles, at least in recent years ...unless price is a big concern for you. The original PS3's had backwards compatibility that was removed not long into the system's lifespan. The Vita has a beautiful OLED screen that's being replaced with a cheaper LCD screen.

Yeah but that Vita is also slimmer, has a replacable battery, and uses micro-USB. It's also hard to notice the differences in screens unless they're side by side.

 

I don't see why Sony would remove PS4 features when they've announced they're adding features as they go.

Not to mention the PS4 doesn't really have any hardware features that they could remove (the disc drive?) and software features don't really matter as they'll be patched in to all models.

 

The whole discussion is kind of moot as far as my purchase decision goes though because I'm going to be getting one no later than Q2 2014, and I really doubt they'll have a new hardware model out that quick.

EDIT: for FDS. We all know Ethan's going to cave and get a PS4 at launch. The man bought a Wii U at launch for crying out loud!

I really do enjoy my Wii U. I'm able to do the whole Digital Deluxe Promotion, and even though Wind Waker HD came with the bundle, it was counted as a $49.99 purchase. You get $5 credit for every $50 spent, so I got Earthbound last night to push me past 500 points.

 

However, I'm beginning to lean towards canceling my pre-order for the PS4. It's not like I won't have anything to play on the PS3, and at the same time I'm paying for a lot of new things now, i.e. medical insurance. I don't have the audacity to ask any family for a PS4 this Christmas. I still remember how lucky I was to get a GameCube for Christmas. It was back in the day when stores would do crazy/weird distribution contests when dealing with highly sought after items and having low quantity. It was only a raffle though, but my father was lucky enough to get me a black GameCube.

 

So, I'll save up for one in February, or maybe when my throat is fully healed I'll take a chance (or two) on winning one through Taco Bell. I've been craving a lot of pizza and tacos for the last week, and no amount of apple sauce and pudding will suffice.

Just noticed a weird thing: when I put my current gen games in alphabetical order (allowing for series order) they're symmetrical between PS4 and Xbone games.

 

 

What does it mean?!

To be fair, 3 of my 4 Xbone games are exclusives, which is only one fewer than my 4 PS4 exclusives, it's just that the PS4 is better with pretty much all multiplat games (the one exception being AC Unity for some reason) so that's where I get them.
