TheRevanchist
Pssh. As a Seahawks fan, I laugh at your misfortune. I found myself rooting for the Seahawks, despite laughing at them at Raiders games for years.
Luftwaffles
Pssh. As a Seahawks fan, I laugh at your misfortune. I found myself rooting for the Seahawks, despite laughing at them at Raiders games for years. Ouch, the Raiders... They've been setting new records in mediocrity for the last couple years. At least as a Seattle fan we've got one or two winning seasons in the past couple years...
Pojodin
@Sporkwaffles: Both defenses did a great job, and those 8 sacks in the first half were incredible. But that is being overshadowed by the officiating. It really diminished what was otherwise a fantastic game. And it's a shame because there were a lot of things in this game worth discussing besides the officiating. TheRevanchist
@Spork: I'm not a Raiders fan. I'm a Chiefs fan, but I used to get game tickets to whatever sport I could see locally (as local as a 3.5 hour drive is). And the Raiders are more fun to watch than the 49ers. The fans are only rowdy when they win. Otherwise, they are pretty dull, which makes being at the game rather dull. And, who drinks wine at a football game? Seriously in bad taste. Anyway, according to the rule book, the NFL has the right to overrule a win if the outcome of the game. However, in a statement released today they said that the refs got the call right (WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY WATCHING!), and the outcome stands. Goodell is solidifying his legacy as someone who has tarnished the NFL. I wonder how much longer the owners are going to put up with him. Pojodin
@Sporkwaffles: That wild card game where the Seahawks beat the Saints. That was pretty cool. @TheRevanchist: I had no idea that the league could overrule a win. That's crazy. And Goodell is definitely digging himself quite a hole. He may not be around for much longer. TheRevanchist
Pollard is a damn dirty player. Glad I won't see Brady in the big game, but I don't like to see assholes like that there, either. Luftwaffles
I hate the Falcons for beating my Seahawks, but why'd they have to go lose to the 49ers, probably my least favorite team. Will definitely be rooting for Baltimore, if only to see Lewis go out in style.
FMW
Yeah! I went 2 for 2 today! Everyone I wanted to win won. Which team will I root for in the Super Bowl? ...Ravens I think. Joe Flacco has earned this. He's played well consistently for a long time now. He had a super bowl trip stolen from him last season when his receiver couldn't catch a ball planted on his damn chest. He's been maligned by pundits constantly despite always being good. This new Kaepernick kid, he doesn't deserve it. You don't get to jump in half way through a season and win a super bowl. You've gotta earn your stripes. Go Ravens!
Waldorf and Statler
I said earlier this semester that I liked how the Ravens were playing and started cheering for them. Didn't realize that the first team I'd cheer for in the NFL out of my own merit and no "pride" would go this far. I'm going all in for the ravens. Chewblaha
Welp. My Seahawks-Patriots Super Bowl goes out the window. Want the Ravens to win, not because I like Ray Lewis, but because I hate Jim Harbaugh and I have some friends whose faces I want to rub it into. Luftwaffles
Yeah, I wish rubbing the 49ers losing in the face of my dad and brother didn't factor so much into my decision.
Chewblaha
Nevermind I'm rooting 49'ers because fuck the Art Modell patch.
madbassman39
Since my recent move to the Northern California Bay Area, I have to be a 49er fan! Not a bad time to move, First the Giants, now possibly the 9ers. Still wont follow the Sharks, Earthquakes, or the Warriors, going to stick to my LA roots (and the Ducks)

TheRevanchist
On signing Brady Quinn to the Jets: "No, just no. Being a Jets fan is like being a chick in a lifetime movie. You want to leave, and you keep getting gut punched, but your husband keeps telling you that everything will be alright, and you stay like an idiot." Best damn thing I've read all day. Chewblaha
Artie Lange once said on NFL Top Ten "When I was a kid I was into the Jets, then I got into girls. Then I got back into the Jets because I realized there's some time when the girl won't fuck you, but the Jets will always fuck you."
madbassman39
I joined in on the company Fantasy Football league. I did it last year and had no idea what I was doing... I don't think thats the case this year, although auto draft seems to think that I picked the best team in my league. I'm using Yahoo sports, where as last year we used ESPN, which was kind of broken and didn't save some of my team changes and forced me to lose a few games. I'll be honest, I never really paid much attention to football in general, I understand the rules of the game because I went to every high school game (Long Beach Poly, #1 in the country when I was a freshman there), but I never kept up with it when I went to college. I may ask for some tips here, hopefully you guys may be able to help a fellow out at not losing $
TheRevanchist
Hell, yeah, we will help. I have 2 fantasy teams right now. Keeping it slow this year. And don't listen to what Yahoo! says about who had the best draft. That is based on the stats from last year and not the expectations of this year. So, you can draft someone with a broken leg, and it will tell you how wonderful your balls smell.

TheRevanchist
Prediction: My Chiefs at about 6 wins. So, yeah. I have Peyton as my starting QB in one of my leagues. The potential for me to shit talk to my opponents is amazing. It's hard to root for him and still root against that whole team, though. Also: Madbass, what's your teams line up? And how many teams are in your league? Edited September 6, 2013 by TheRevanchist
madbassman39
10 teams in my league QB: Tom Brady WR: Antonio Brown, Vincent Jackson, Julio Jones RB: Trent Richardson, Doug Martin TE: Rob Gronkowski Kicker: Matt Bryant with Chicago as my Defense
TheRevanchist
That's solid. Gronk should be back soon. Brady had a very un-Bradylike day today, but he should come around to the stud he is. The public league I am playing on the side has Peyton Manning AND AP! I killed it this week. My focal league went to hell straight out the gate. Chris Ivory didn't do shit. But, he is on the Jets. I should have expected that. With the way we built the scoring, I lost that league game.
