Yantelope
My thoughts on the NFL: "...both sides are staring each other down like two assholes fighting over the last Maybach in a Mercedes dealership because they literally can't figure out how to split up the hundreds of millions they're making. TheRevanchist
Basically, they are all greedy. No big surprise. If I don't get my football season, I'm going to have to watch college football. Then I'll just be pissed at the greed of the BCS. Then, I'll be forced to watch tennis. No one should have to watch tennis.

TheRevanchist
Pshhh. Hockey starts in less than one hundred days. Hell yeah! NOPE! I've got no passion. I've no patience. And I hate waitin'. That's why I emailed Conrad. He replied: "I will get off my lazy ass and reform the league this week. Hopefully my motivation will somehow magically carry over to the real league and they will get a deal done." Here's to A New Hope.
staySICK
I'm a Chiefs fan. And, I root for whoever is on my fantasy teams. One or two years I was rooting for Wes Welker. He was a stud. Romo was worth having before Jessica Simpson came along. She ruined him like she ruined music. I even rooted for a Packer at one point in time! Another Kansan? Or Misery-an? 'Cause no one roots for the Chiefs unless its their home team.

Most of my childhood was in Japan, where the only major game, college or above, I saw was Air Force taking on someone in Tokyo. It was cool because I got the game program, which was mostly in Kanji, which I think my dad still has in his garage. Upon returning to the states and seeing football on TV (not something I would have seen on TV normally), I saw Christian Okoye running the ball with such grace and skill. I didn't really know much about the NFL, just football at the high school level, playing with my buddies in pick up games, and my dad's worship of Joe Montana. The impact of him running stuck with me, and I've followed the Chiefs ever since. I did live in Illinois for a few years there, right across the border from St Louis, where no one followed the Cards. Then, they moved to Arizona, which was all for the better.
staySICK
ah, that was the start of a good era for the Chiefs. Still a shame they couldn't come up with a ring back then.
TheRevanchist
The regular season showed so much promise. Then came a playoff game. Coach would quit throwing the ball and start running the ball when the run game had been shut down the entire time. Throwing was still strong, but it won't work if you don't call the play! Third and long doesnt mean try and run it up the gut. WTF was he thinking. Even a football dumbass like me knows better than that.

TheRevanchist
That's Martyball for you. He choked for the players. It wasn't even funny. All that damn hard work down the drain because of bad play calling. The team played like a team on the field. That's why they are winners in my mind, and I love them for it. TheRevanchist
Good to see the Raiders are up to their old tricks: Finding new ways to suck. On top of their typical penalty-riddled defense, they have now introduced the sloppy long snapper. Luckily, with my fantasy team, they were just good enough to not let my opponent this week win, who had Antonio Gates as his TE. Instead, we tied, which is not something I have done before in my years of playing fantasy football. And, my Chiefs didn't bother trying to win. They just bent over and let Rover take over. Unbelievable!
Chewblaha
I have no idea why Mike Martz is a color commentator for Fox now. This is so stupid.
TheRevanchist
Mike Martz is still better than what you get on NFL Network. I watched on show with Neon Deon and some other guys (can't remember who, as the trauma was more than my poor ears could take). It was pure junk! No in-depth analysis and no insight. It was to football what Miley Cyrus is to music. Fucking terrible.
Chewblaha
"America's Game" was perhaps one of the best ideas Steve Sabol ever had. At least he got to be there with his dad on one of the biggest days of his life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dy2647zZqD8 Rest in peace, buddy. TheRevanchist
You need to feel outraged. Every game has been ugly with the play calling. This one just happened to be the final play of the game. The NFL has tried to sweep this under the rug, but not after this. There is no quieting the teams after this. The Packers front office is probably lobbying on the phones right now.

Pojodin
@ TheRevanchist: There's nothing to say really. Other than criticizing the refs. But as you said, the refs have been terrible. It's a short week for the Pack, so we'll see how they do next week. @Chewy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Greene
TheRevanchist
The Pack don't have an owner to stick up for them. This is really going to bite balls. They need bettter representation in the NFL.
Pojodin
Ya. A bunch of Packer peasants will be storming Goodell's office with pitchforks and cheese wheels tomorrow. It will be glorious.
