Spoiler about Kaidan (early in the game, when he is... "stationed" somewhere, after talking to him 1 or 2 times).

Man, so many spoiler tags in here. Must tread carefully... :unsure2:

So, I'm about 15 hours in so far. I guess maybe I'm about halfway through? I really have no way to be sure but I'm really taking my time and generally try to clear all the side-quests I can before doing the major plot quests. I was so in a hurry to finish ME2 at launch that my final mission was quite the disaster. I was very thorough when I replayed it on PS3 and I won't be making the same mistake again!

Anyway, earlier I completed what seems to be the first major plot point. For reference, it took place on Tuchanka.

I just did that part too, but I didn't have an issue with it.

Protip - if it looks like they're making you choose between either one or the other option, but then there are paragon/renegade options on the other side of the wheel, the paragon/renegade usually lets you get the best of both worlds.

Ugh. I would be more pissed off with myself for playing this game the whole fucking day. but with all my friends back in our home town [im leaving tomorrow midday] I wanted a whole day to just nerd-out. So I spent it playing this, and never left my apartment today.

So first:

http://www.gamefly.com/news/article/209920/mass-effect-designer-defends-day-one-dlc-says-game-developers/

I played without the DLC and by all accounts that I'm hearing it was in the realm of "Somewhat important and should have been core" with elements of "Ill thought out sub-par DLC plotline". From Ashes as far as day-one DLC goes is not so much disliked purely for being day one DLC, but what it represents to the series lore and Bioware cocking it up big time in the name of a quick buck.

Completed the game.

So yeah, ME series is done. In some years down the line I may do a full through DLC playthrough. Though it's yet to be seen if the "Mass Effect Ultimate Trilogy" will be released by EA, or other parties :P Other than that, I have little interest in the franchise/studio anymore.

Bioware I love the Mass Effect series, but you can sprinkle the DLC shit-cake with sugar, and you might think it doesn't taste like shit anymore, but now it tastes like a desert baker took a shit in your mouth.

What I'm trying to say, is fuck you. But thanks for the great game, I am [not] looking forward for it to end. Mostly because I've had so much fun, but partially because I am dreading the thought of the bad ending.

lol, Jesus, you've completely lost interest in Bioware over this?

No, I lost interest in Bioware (Group) a while back. I was just holding out on this one to complete the trilogy, I'd hate to leave it hanging. It's a bit like you knew from Phantom Menace that Clone Wars n Revenge of the Sith would suck a bit compared to the old films, but you stuck by just to complete the story.

DA:O was an amazing game. Just a shame that no one at Bioware seemingly saw this. If they could make more DA:O titles I could get interested again, even more so if they drop the lame DLC policy they have. Other than that, Bioware seems just...butter spread over too much bread. The growth from 1 studio for 10 years, to expanding to 7 studios in the space of 5 years has not been a smooth transition.

This is so very, very true. It sold like hotcakes too, if I remember right, so why did they feel the need to completely abandon the formula for 2?

*Edit* - I've been holding out for Bioware because they've made my favorite RPGs ever, and no one else makes games in that same kind of style. Bethesda is closest, but it's still a long way off.

Thing is I feel there's very definitely two Biowares. There's the Bioware Corp that ran from 1996-2007 making licensed DnD n Star Wars titles, with a finishing with their own oriental and sci-fi titles. Then there's the post EA buyout Bioware Group that expanded to 7 studios, making MMOs of old franchises, continuing trilogies of old, learning what DLC was, and now moving onto an RTS. Most folks in my experience when they say they like "Bioware games" they like the games by Bioware Corp, not Bioware Group.

You need to hear what Dr. Seuss told me. To cut it short, what happened to Bioware is basically that they shifted their focus from making games to making money. People like to blame EA, but the greatest deal of the fault is that they have hired many people who aren't passionate. they just want to make money.

Played about five hours of the game today. The last half hour was the same section because of a couple of bugs.

It was the Academy...

Also, if you talk to Liara and mention Glyph, Shepard will not take his eyes of the VI. So for the rest of the conversation either Shepard will be looking away from Liara or have his eyes roll back. <_<

In the grim darkness of future gaming theres only DLC.

Honestly, you sound very naive, Dean.

I wasn't bothered much with video game logic in ME3, I liked the atmosphere, the pathos. The trilogy was good enough(with every DLC possible, lol), except the ending.

I ain't even mad.

Meanwhile at bioware...

Oh, btw, what the hell are phone booths doing in the future?

Hehe. I had that bug.

To be honest, I kinda wish the From Ashes DLC/the character didn't exist. It may be interesting, but I'm not sure it really adds anything of value in story terms.

Damn. I'd like to finish this game soon, so I could read all the spoilers. I just have 1 question though.

Is Ashley and Kaidan's story the same in Mass Effect 3? Please answer the question in spoiler tags so those who wouldn't wanna know wouldn't see it. For me, it's nothing. If its the same, then I already know what it is. If it's not, then nothing is spoiled anyway. Just a simple yes or no. I'm afraid to search online as I may accidentally see the resolution on kaidan's story. Thanks!

Oh by the way, for anyone annoyed with the Mission Tab on the journal always starting way down, just press Sort (Triangle in my case) and you'll be back on top.
