I unlocked a Revenant a while back but was not happy with it at all. It was heavy and didn't really offer much of an advantage over the Avenger I already had (which I think was only an Avenger II). Now the Mattock, that's a hell of a gun. Takes down Assault Troopers with great ease, and very handy for shooting Guardians right through their little slit. Hmm, that sounded a bit dirty...

I've got a scoped Carnifex for that. Does more damage than the Mattock anyways. I can't stand the scope on assault rifles, gets in the way.

Hmm, interesting. I was referring to my Krogan, so I've got my shotgun, with a Mattock as a back-up (rarely need to us the scope anyway). Might have to try the Carnifex. Loved that gun in ME2, and I'm guessing it might be a bit lighter. My main concern was the ammo capacity. How does that compare?

6 shots, 30 ammo back up. It does enough damage where you're nearly guaranteed a headshot if you land one on a target without armor or shields. Strongest heavy pistol you can use in multiplayer, I think.

Given Zaeed and Kasumi, I'm sure Prothy the Prothean won't add too much to the overall experience, much less the plot of the game.

It's wrong that it's day 1 paid DLC, but I doubt it's that meaningful. Also, I don't buy many (new) games at all; I'm not gonna boycott the one game that I am actually planning on buying this year.

SPOILERS

SPOILER

They've given an official statement regarding the CE DLC. It has a fair few holes in it. For one the game only went fold 10 days ago, so I fail to see how they could have churned it out, and gotten it into the XBL certification process, in that time unless it really is exceedingly shit, in which case why claim it's for long time fans?

Also:

Though it's a bit of an old point (not really a spoiler thing, least not ME3, just ME in general)

Couldn't they sat on the DLC for a month before announcing it? Sure smart folks can look at the code to see if anything is in there too... but still.

It for sure kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth if I bought ME3 with this setup because seriously... how can this DLC not have anything to do with the lore? If EA/Bioware or anybody want me to buy new and/or on launch... they got to not do things like this.

They actually intended to sit on it a little while longer, but it went up on the XBLM early so they didn't have a whole lot of choice.

Yeah, I realized that after I posed, that Mal was talking about sitting on the DLC itself, when I just meant they intended to sit on the announcement.

Honestly though I don't really get what people are complaining about. My understanding is that this was intended to be CE-exclusive content, and the reason they're releasing it at all is that the CE is sold out everywhere and they want people to be able to get it if they want. If anything you should be happy: the CE costs $20 more than the regular edition, but the DLC only costs $10.

We should be happy? Son, you crazy. They are taking very major, very plot important content, cutting it out of the game, and now we should be thanking them because they are, by grace and goodwill, letting us pay ten dollars for content that should have been included in the sixty dollar game to begin with?

Fuck these guys. I'm not picking ME3 up until it's at least 30 dollars. They can blow me.

What FDS said. Also, there's no reason to believe this DLC is any better/more important than the Kasumi/Zaeed DLC from ME2, and those are ENTIRELY skippable.

I just straight up don't believe that they made it separately- it's far too major, plot wise, to have not been part of the original process. And while Zaeed and Kasumi were quite skippable, this is a goddamn Prothean. The entire series is about the Protheans. This is NOT a minor character, at least in significance.

I'm glad DLC is coming day one. It bothers me when developers release DLC months after the game came out, after I've finished it. Assassin's Creed is a good example of this. In the case of ME3, if you don't want it, or can't afford it, no problem as it's not required to finish the game. Everyone wins. :)

Weird glitch I encountered in the demo. First I was teleporting around all crazy, then finally I appeared below the level and started falling. It amuses me that it looks like he's flapping his arms, maybe to fly back up to the level.

Yeah I honestly gotta say that if the Prothean is DLC, it means that they cant honestly expect you to download it to get the best ending.

You can still be allies with the protheans, this is just probably an actual squad member that will be like Zaaed and Kasumi (aka no dialogue across the game besides their basic sentences]
