I couldn't remember that bit, though I do remember

Samara talking about how Morinth was the strongest and brightest of her daughters (like three times), so I do remember she had more children. I just have a hard time remembering they're ardat yakshi. Isn't it suppose to be rare though? I wouldn't have figured she would have had three daughters being ardat yakshi.

OH HOLY CRAP! I took the time to read up on the Indoctrination Theory, and I'll post a video with the reasons (ones we've noticed) in the spoiler tag, but there's a reason why the "Perfect Ending" is

considered the optimal ending simply because of the "breath" scene. Not that Shepard lived, but he broke free of the Reaper's indoctrination! The indoctrination theory also gives reason to why the endings are a choice; whether you can break free of the indoctrination. This means that Destruction, even if you get the "vaporized" Earth outcome is still the good outcome. The game merely rewards you with a teaser if you did the very best.

Seriously, I came to some of these reason before watching the video. It makes too much sense, especially when you see some of the subtle hints.

The only downside to this is that it would seem like Bioware is banking on "fandom." Much like the idea that Javik, a Prothean, is DLC is because he is a Prothean. The mysterious race we've only read about. Don't you want to pay $10 for this?

So when the

Epilogue DLC comes out, how much is it going to be? Another $10 for a tactic to work around a $60 price tag? A DLC character you can quench by watching YouTube videos, but a DLC ending to a series? You must have a strong will to want to only watch it than play it.

Honestly the indoctrination theory makes sense, but I think it would take a ballsier developer than Bioware to pull it off. It would require to go against fans who are ok with the ending, not to mention charge players for the true ending. Now to charge players for a clarfication of the ending/closure is another thing since then you're not changing the ending.

Does anyone know if you actually get to see/talk to Hannah Shepard if you're playing Mass Effect 2/3 on the PS3? Reason I asked is that she doesn't appear/email on later games if you never did the mission in Mass Effect 1... according to the wiki. So PS3 owners probably won't know about mom then?

I never picked the Spacer background. I never knew You could actually talk to Shepard's mom (apparently, he did in ME1).

You get a letter from her in ME2, and she gets mentioned in dialogue between Shepard and Hackett in ME3. That's it.

Is it sad that I have yet to grasp the difference between a lot of the stats? Im still not quite sure what power damage is. I get shields and health and damage. But shit like power cooldown and shit like that Im confused about. Some of it I just thought was bullshit. Especially all the different types of ammo. There are so many fucking types of ammos and so many different powers that are just for shields or for when you dont have shields. Im sorry, I dont think im an rpg gamer anymore. I hate having statistics in my head.

My head blew up when I tried to read the description of the piercing mod for guns. Seriously...what?

OK, so I finished the game. Now I am torn...

On the one hand, taken straight, that ending is just disappointing. I'm not up in arms or anything but it is just full of holes and is not very clear at all. I can kinda see what the fuss is about.

On the other hand, I really like the indoctrination theory. Although, that comes with its own set of problems. In narrative terms, it means they haven't resolved the story in the game. And I don't care if it's free DLC, that is not how to release a game because not everyone is online, etc. If it's paid DLC, that is reprehensible.

I get the feeling there may be more to come but it seems like it might be somewhere between the two and would incorporate your choice. The 'standard' interpretation is just too dumb, whereas the indoctrination theory sounds too clever. And the original dark matter concept sounded like it was thought out poorly. What was a human reaper going to do? Punch dark energy in its face?

Damage = gun damage

power damage = biotic/tech damage

cooldown - well that's a the timer until you can shoot of your power again.

Enemies have armour, barrier, shields and then raw health. The game makes it a bit simpler in that powers that do jack squat on certain shield types just won't activate. For example powers like Overload work on both shields and geth/robots, but not on barrier enemies. Powers like warp work for armour and organics, but a bit useless on robots. Gernally tech skills = robots, biotics = fleshies, soldier stuff = anything.

As for the piercing mod, yeah I didn't rally understand what that was for. Shooting through cover at the expense of normal damage was what I understood it to be. Which seemed silly to me. Enemies are more often out of cover than in it.

As a Vanguard, power damage and power cooldown are king!

Power damage is definitely how much damage your biotic powers do. I'm not sure if that covers tech damage as well, because I know certain skill paths say they influence tech or biotic power cooldown. I think it covers both when referring to armour stats.

Cooldown is how quickly your powers recharge. If you're more focused on just shooting, it may not bother you. Or they recharge at a quick enough rate for you, but for something like an Adept or Vanguard, you rely on being able to use your powers as often as possible. Thanks to armour parts and Glyph upgrades, by the end, my Vanguard could charge at someone, use Nova and then be ready to charge at someone else right away. As an Adept, you can take advantage of using stasis or singularity and being able to combine that with another biotic power to create an explosion almost immediately.

At first, I thought the piercing mod meant that any shots that are going through cover do reduced damage and I was like, "Well, yeah, sure." As in, it worked the same way as upgrading Overload to hit a second enemy but at reduced damage. But then I started wondering why my shotguns didn't feel as powerful against some enemies, and it was because the mod was only really giving me an advantage against bypassing armour on tougher ones.
