No love for the best game on the DS? TWEWY, as the fans call it- not actually that much less clunky than the full name, but oh well- is a fantastic action JRPG for the DS that does EVERYTHING right. DS-unique controls that kick ass, a Pokemon-esque catch-em-all attitude to your magic spells (They evolve! You can find them, you can buy them, you can quest for them!), great characters, a bitchin' fuckin' soundtrack, a unique setting and plot, and great art. And so much more.

So what are you waiting for? Get posting, you factoring hectopascals, or I'll add you to the heap! CRUNCH!

Excellent game on the DS. I spent a good amount of time playing through this game a few times. It can be easy to get lost in a fight and the forced plot walls(physical invisible walls at that) could get annoying but the story, the characters, the battles, the music, the secrets, and even the menus were perfect. Defiantly one of the top 3 games for the DS.

I really liked it the first time through, and I think that the included side story about Tin Pin is hilarious. However, I haven't been able to complete the game on later playthroughs. Week 2 just really drags. I want to get through to week 3, especially because week 3's battle system is my favorite, but I just haven't been able to get over that hump.

I love how cinematic they were able to make it only using 2D images though. Very good creative stuff. The only other game I've played that was at all similar is Trauma Team.

I adore this game.

One of the rare games that get me to turn up the difficulty in order to get some good drops from the Noise. One of the few games that I hard a problem with putting down. I actually finished it in good time which I usually don't do. My favorite part of the game was the tin pin parallel universe story.

If SE lets the Kingdom Hearts team work on another new IP, I'd be a happy camper. But I know that's not going to happen. sleep.gif

"Emptiness and" is my favorite track. It just gets me pumped. laugh.gif ("Sometimes" is a close second)

To think that I nearly passed up this game and didn't really expect much from it. sad.gif

Week 2 just really drags.

WHAAAAT Week 2 was the best! Joshua zapping powers + Car teleporting = Awsomeness

I'm with the Senior here. Week 2 was definitely the best. The game really hit its stride there... and we got to see lots of everyone's favorite character, Minamimoto!

Now I'm trying to remember all the combination attacks to remember which was my favorite. I can still remember all the quotes from starting them =P

Shiki and Neku: "Ready to die?" "Then die!"

Joshua and Neku: "Follow my lead!" "Screw that!"

Beat and Neku: "Pick it up, Phones!" "I'm there!"

...Now I want to play through again.

Definitely my favourite DS game, bar none.

Never did beat that final boss in the post-game, though I know who it is and know the whole hidden story behind it.

Absolutely loved the battle system though, I could certainly get behind another game that does that. Though with a different story. This one's already told and over, it doesn't need a sequel.

Since I don't own many DS games, this easily goes to first place. Probably even on my top 5 of all time.

Week 2 was my favorite, it did so much for me. Yoshiya is one of my favorite characters easily.

One thing I never did understand is why did people liked Minamimoto after quite a bit of time had passed when the game was released? Sure I thought he was pretty badass, but plenty of months later I see fanboys/girls drooling over him and quoting him on everything.

At least that's how I saw it. Beat was the least favorite partner for me, if anything because I STILL don't understand his battle system.

To me, first Joshua, then Shiki, then Beat.

Emptiness and is such an awesome track, even though the lyrics confuse me to no end.

I just got this game this past Summer. I beat it in about a week because I literally could not put it down. I went downtown looking for some Doc Martens one day, and I was so tempted to play it as I was walking around. I knew I couldn't pay adequate attention to either, but man was it tempting.

Definitely top 5 DS games.

I picked up a copy of this a while ago but a friend told me that I might have trouble playing it with my dodgy hands and it got bumped down the list until my arthritis is bit better. Was she right about the unusual controls?

Yes, weirdwolf. I haven't played it, but apparently you use the D-pad to control a character on the top screen and the stylus to control another character on the bottom screen at the same time.

Thanks, I've given it a try and managed somehow to get to the 3rd day?(Turning on the lights) So far I am really enjoying it despite not being much of an RPG-er. I really should try to learn something other than pressing R or L repeatedly for the top screen though.

The controls were very frantic to everyone and anyone who says they mastered it right away is lying. By Day Seven I was barely able to attack properly with Neku and manage to guess right the cards for Shiki.

After a while, depending on your pins and the time you've practiced, you will not even need to use the "Auto-pilot" feature, you'll be able to control both just fine.
