Faiblesse Des Sens
If you have a smartphone I would recommend a MP3 player that's actually good at playing MP3s. Creative, Cowon, Zune, and even Sony aren't bad options for flash based players at 32gb or less. If you go creative stay away from their touch screens, btw. CorgiShinobi
Deja vu I have an iPod Touch 8GB; never have had a problem. I don't hate Apple, but I don't partake in their products often. I owned two Creative Zen MP3 players before the iPod, each one was a steaming pile of crap. Well, the Zen Touch wasn't that bad at first, but it started to degrade over time. I don't mean like typical wear-and-tear, everything from the battery and interface would go down hill. It served its purpose and it convinced me to purchase another Creative player... Biggest waste of money in my recorded history. It use to be called the "Creative Zen," but over time I think it has changed its name to Zen MX. It was suppose to be a great media player, with extra storage via a SD card slot. Yeah, good luck playing anything on it! Videos would cause it to freeze, the screen would shift to where the right side was on the left and vice verse. Hell, sometimes it wouldn't turn off and I can't count the number of times I used a paper clip to reset the device. iTunes is bloated, but it's not the worst thing in the world. My iPod displays Korean characters, and if you have a Touch, creating a playlist is simple. Syncing only takes a long time if you have apps with huge file size, and really that only happens when there's an update for the app. Still, if you have a smart phone, getting a Touch would be counter intuitive. I mean, I've seen the new iPod Touch as my roommate won one at a company Chirstmas party, but you would be better off spending money on something that simply plays music. That new iPod Nano is, like, as big as a checkerboard piece, but for the life of me I haven't operated one so no comment. All I can say is my experience has taught me to stay away from Creative. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
Heartless
If you want apps, get a smart phone. PMP/MP3 players are meant for playing music. Not games and checking Facebook and looking at your stock portfolio. Forget about that...date plans are overpriced and no one really wants to be carrying around more than one device. staySICK
sansas play FLAC, which is pretty kick ass, and they are super cheap too. I like the zune program, and I personally love my Zune 120 GB. I got my wife a used 4GB zune but unfortunately now its apparently not wanting to a hold a charge, so I'm mulling my options. iLjaG
Forget about that...date plans are overpriced and no one really wants to be carrying around more than one device. I share your "I only like to carry 1 device with me" sentiments. One only needs to look at my thoughts/feelings on handheld game devices to see that. However, in today's society, having a cell phone is almost a requirement. So I mean, since you're gonna have it on you anyways, might as well make sure you get one that can do all the shit you want it to.
Heartless
That works, but for the price of plans I usually suck it up (oh ho ho) and carry around more than one device if I think I'll actually be needing/wanting to use apps. Should change when I pick up my new company cell tomorrow...
