I am MaliciousH and I swear that I beaten all Metroid games. Like, who the hell hasn't touched a Metroid game to get surprised that Samus is a girl!?*

How can any 20 something year-old gamer call himself a gamer if they haven't done that!?*

*Me.

And yeah Dean, never gotten far at all on SMB3...

Yet people accuse ME of lying when I tell them I beat SMB3 with 99 lives and without (unintentionally) losing a life* or warping. I had a VHS recording of it somewhere ...

*In World 3 there's a level where you can get infinite lives and I let the time run out to get 99 lives.

Dear god the new i09 layout is HORRIBLE. One of the worst website layouts I have EVER seen in all my life. If this comes to kotaku without an option to go back to the old view I seriously will not be able to go there anymore. My OCD will not let me do it. If that happens, would you guys recommend Joystiq as an alternative?

Luke Plunkett? Credit a tip? Have you just broken out a mental institution cos you sound maaaddd

I'm just disgusted they're once again trying to tie current affairs news to video games. "Oh look a pop culture reference from Alien. This must be VG news!"

GRR. I hate Luke for that very reason. I fucking sent a tip in and less then two days later it pops up. I WAS THE ONE. ME. Also yeah all the other reasons Luke sucks.

Anyway the new layout I saw it for a small while when Kotaku had it up. Just plain awful. 15 second adverts to read A FUCKING ARTICLE?

Combined with the fact all you have to go on now for an article is the headline. :/

They're really going to have to sell you on that story with the headline, while trying to avoid making really shitty misleading headlines. Especially if after the random pot luck of clicking stuff you get a video advert. Which will really drive away the "at school/work" readers.

There's just so many obvious flaws it's amazing they're still going through with it.

Well i guess gawker forgot that they also have mobile versions of their websites....since io9 just doesnt have one anymore.

Snap! You better tell them that! It just takes you to the normal version of the site does it? I prefer it that way, but I imagine a lot of people will like mobile versions.

From what I'm reading, the new site design is their mobile site.

Apparently we all have 10"+ phones. (When it was introduced it was as "iPad friendly redesign", so I guess the assumption is were on on Tablets now.)

Also no more Twitter sharing, just Facebook.

Also I mentioned this on Twitter but I'll repeat for you guys:

Check the comments on the io9 articles. "Featured" is a single Featured comment. "All" isn't All, but is in fact just promoted and starred comments. Which I assume means Stars will now see greys like they currently do with pinks.

Also on a fair few articles to actually see comments you have to actively click a "show comments" link in the first place. Community certainly taking a back seat in the redesign. Also looks like it's a manual bookmark for folks wanting to go to Speakup n such. Despite adding tags like a year or so ago still no Tag Cloud, which you'd of expected with the addition of tags. It's like adding comments but no way to register.

Ive only ever visited kotaku, but i just found out that joystiq has an android app.

I wish fucking kotaku would put some effort into a fucking app. I love apps on my phone.

Then again kotakus mobile site is useless as fuck. Doesnt load earlier comments, takes out most pictures, cant watch videos, and finally, you can log into your account to comment.
