You do know of the Slowtaku nickname right?

Slowtaku_by_Kool_AIDS.jpg

While every now n then they'll be on the dot, they are quite frequently pretty slow on the news. And even more often than not these days, as I mentioned at bottom of previous page Page 7, missing some news stories altogether.

I won't miss kotaku when it flips the switch, but I will miss some of the commenters. Especially if most of them leave and theres no way to track some of em down. (which would be part of the reason of this place, commenters without the need of any particular gaming site)

the keyword? that's not on anymore. I believe I'll of mentioned that on twitter (also if it was still on I'd be tweeting about it too)

Just be wary, they have a bit of a vendetta against me, and by extension this place and anyone who mentions it. So if you care for stars n such I'd keep on the low down.

While I personally removed access to my account, due to the password fiasco, I sometimes regret it. Note I say sometimes, and that's really some times. Those times are usually when there's a lack of reason or knowledge. In example, finding out about the Tron: Legacy box set, but people complaining about not receiving the first Tron on Blu-ray months ago. Short story, Tron was shown earlier that year at free public showings and people laughed. That scared the folks at Disney and so Tron was wiped from the face of the Earth before Legacy's premiere.

Nah they've not banned, but they stripped Topeks star n shoved him in the cornfield, though it later turned out the loss of a star was from going all Spartacus on them with "I'm deanb":

http://kotaku.com/comment/36588231 - originally had a link to this place and a blurb on the kotakuites TF2 n MC server.

What the hell is wrong with these guys? Why are they so allergic to the idea of a forum like this?

Funnily it's them that sparked the idea. If it wasn't for them making TAY on kotaku we wouldn't of had folks going "you know what, a proper forum would be a good idea". I find it laughable they've started adding into TAY "this is kotaku's official forum". lolforum. It's almost like they're scared of this place. Also once again lolforum. It disappears after a day, it was part of the whole reason of this place(s).

I wonder why now it bothers them. When you used to promote the other TAY forum they never saw it as a threat but they do to this one. If that is the case.

Part of the redesign is supposedly a more forum-like #speakup. I can see how promoting an actual forum would ruffle their feathers a little bit.

http://beta.kotaku.c...#!speakup/forum - This is the new Speakup "forum" format. It's even worse than before as it combines speakup with all the comments from the "speakup on kotaku" comments too. :/

Also seems to only be star n promoted comments. Anyone with a star want to say what they see? Cos there's also no option to see all, even in the main article comments too. Either the featured comment or what are currently classed as featured comments (stars/promoted)

So at the moment the new format is looking less community orientated than it was before.

Yeah, it's still not really a forum and it's terribly formatted. I was just 'splaining the new aversion to TAY Gappoi by Kotaku staff.

So wait, they've re-banned you recently Dean?

Man, they really have it in for you... <_<

You'd think you did something horrible to them, like running over Crecente's dog with a car or something

Anyway, as for the speakup link you posted, I have a star and all I'm seeing are posts from other stars and promoted comments.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I don't see any way to "show all comments" or anything of the sort.

Though when clicking to see replies, some commenters have an empty star (just an outline, it's not colored) next to their avatars, and if I mouse over it (or a regular star), it says "toggle star"

 The hell is that?

Yeah I posted here:

In relation to the new speakup "forum": hmm.....

So that's even worse than the current thing, no front page link and unless you're 'featured' you're fucked.

Also toggle star is a bug, it's a mod feature, but visible (not usable) by regulars.

Oh, so then I guess I was seeing comments made by non-stars. But they were all among the hidden replies.

Every thread I see is either started by a star or a promoted comment, but I can't see any non-star unpromoted threads, so I'm wondering if the promoted ones are only there because they were promoted on the old site and once the new one goes live it'll be stars only...

I still can't get over how horrible that new site is. My dislike for kotaku in general has only grown over the past year, but this just might be what makes me stop visiting altogether :/
