Dragon Age II

Recommended Posts

It is of course nothing to do with getting folks onto EA Store or to do with the fact the game they're giving out for free has a sequel coming in a year or so (and a bunch of DLC available)

I'd wager there's a huge overlap in DA n ME players anyway, so it's not like it'll cost em much.

Last year valve gave out portal for free, both getting folks onto Steam, and growing the fanbase in preparation for Portal 2. If these people weren't going to have bought ME2 in the past year, the chances of them buying it any time soon is slim, so it's not like they're giving away something folks would buy.

The high dragons are so easy in DA1. What makes them tough in DA2? No ultra-tank character like Shale?

I don't think it's the whole ultra-tank deal (Shale was pretty damn OP, though). Every time I died to the High Dragon, it was always because the little baby dragons tore my healer apart and I couldn't kill them quick enough, or because I had too many melee damage-dealers. Quickly solved that problem.

And dragons now have the ability to shoot homing fireballs. Awesome.

I recently resumed playing DA2 and am enjoying it thuroughly after giving myself time to accept it's flaws. I think I'm nearing the end of it, but I can't tell for sure.

I did not find the High Dragon fight very hard, but I found it incredibly tedious. It took ages to beat it down and I died once when I got caught off-guard by a pack of dragonlings who swarmed and destroyed my healer.

Why would you want to accept flaws, though?
