staySICK
wow I can't stand the game on the 360. blegh.
deanb
And the numbers from Bioware themselves: Dragon Age: Origins 1,000,000 Words 1,000 Cinematics 1,000 Characters 56,000 Spoken Lines 60 Hours of Gameplay Dragon Age II 400,000 Words 2,500 Cinematics 500 Characters 38,000 Spoken Lines 40 Hours of Gameplay How come you now have a voice characters and the spoken lines has decreased? Nearly half as much too. But at least you have more video to watch. :/
Faiblesse Des Sens
How do they even figure out the gameplay hours? Also what's the source on those numbers?
deanb
I tossed it up in the News Feed but here it is any way: http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/84352/gdc-2011-dragon-age-ii-signifficantly-shorter-and-more-cinematic/ Their head of localization. So the guy who kinda has to know this sort of stuff. As for figuring out the game play hours I figure they..play it. Maybe with a clock running.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Gameplay hours vary greatly based on style, what you do in the game (sidequests and whatnot) and that sort of thing. There's no need to be condescending. Also don't assume everyone reads the news feed, either.
deanb
Well it's a bit of encouragement isn't it? And what answer did you honestly expect? That they weigh it on scales that measures in hours. Ask yourself, how would you figure out how long a game takes to do an average play through.
Faiblesse Des Sens
I wouldn't. I'd say main quest is approximately x hours. Sidequests can range anywhere from y to z hours.
TheForgetfulBrain
My gameplay hours tend to be double that over the average person. It's sort of ridiculous. Speaking of ridiculous, I just looked on Amazon, and there's people trying to scalp the Signature Edition of DAII for $250+. Absolutely ridiculous. deanb
http://www.escapistm...er-Than-Origins So the diffuculty has definitely been decreased. Supposedly "Normal" should be beatable by playing as a single character. Which makes you question what easy is beatable with in a party based RPG. I can understand using one character to beat a TES game on normal. But Dragon Age?

Also, this: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-exiled-dragon-age/711040 DLC announced before it's even released, and only for a paltry SEVEN dollars! That's the Signature Edition DLC, basically the 'Free Collectors Edition' upgrade you got if you pre-ordered it before the game was available on Steam, and what people are trying to scalp on Amazon for $250+ right now. http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-2-Bioware-Signature-Pc/dp/B003UF9E0O/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1299038026&sr=8-12 EDIT Also, crap: From http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Age_2 "Choices from Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening, The Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt will also be imported. The player must import his or her save games in a single chain tracing all the way back to Dragon Age: Origins to be able to import all game data (i.e. rather than two separate transfers from Origins/Awakening to the respective DLC)." Looks like I'm going to need to get around to finish Awakening and the rest of the DLC... but DAII is out in like a week and I'm hardly gonna be home. No way that's gonna happen. Sadness! TheMightyEthan
I played Origins and all its DLC (including Awakening) on 360, but DA2's lack of auto-attack on console makes it unplayable on that system, so I won't be able to import. I'll have to look for a website that lets you download save files. I know there's a site like that for Mass Effect, so I assume there's one for DA too. Mister Jack
Does Awakening affect your world in DA2 or is it just Origins? I haven't even touched Awakening yet.
Pirandello
Thanks for the link, GOH! Does Awakening affect your world in DA2 or is it just Origins? I haven't even touched Awakening yet. Last I heard, most of the DLC content from the original game, if completed, would have an effect in the story of DA2.
Vargras
Eh, I wish the DAO DLC was at least as interesting as the ME2 DLC. I completed DAO once, never touched it or the DLC. Completed ME2 multiple times, bought every piece of DLC except the alternate appearance packs. I dunno, there was just something about the DAO DLC that made me completely uninterested. Mr. GOH!
Which DLC affects DA2? Awakening, Return to Ostagar and Witch Hunt. I believe these are confirmed and, no, I don't have any linkies for you just trust me yes trust me I'm a nice Mr. GOH! and would never lie to you would I no I wouldn't I always tell the truth yes. The rest of the DLC doesn't affect shit.
TheForgetfulBrain
I believe you fooz missed the edit on my last post - the DA Wiki seems to think that Awakening, Witch Hunt and Golems of Amgarrak are the DLC that effects DAII. http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Age_2 I am currently feverishly playing through Awakenings, and then those two DLC.
