Already 33% off. I was considering it day one so why the hell not?

Also grabbed some Age of Empires games (Definitive Editions) cause they were like 5 bucks each along with

Which I've been meaning to get for a while now. It sounds right up my alley and I've been itching for a proper stealth game ever since it became obvious that there isn't going to be a third Styx game...

I'm still waiting for the ray tracing patch before playing Plague Tale.

I had no idea the first game was due for a ray-tracing update. Thanks for the heads-up.

Although, if recent similar updates are any indication, I'm starting to suspect my 3080 will turn out to be nowhere near as future proof as I expected it to be. I ended up deciding not to replay Witcher 3 right now because you basically need DLSS3's frame generation to get a decent framerate. It honestly runs like shit* on my 3080 and I wouldn't expect Plague Tale to be any different given how demanding the sequel apparently is. I'm sure my ultrawide monitor's resolution plays a role here, though.

*by shit I mean consistently sub-60fps, which isn't a huge deal but it annoys the hell out of me considering how much I paid for the damn card and it's just low enough for gsync to not be able to help smooth things out 😭

Yeah, I'm noticing the same thing with my 3080, and it's rather upsetting. I'm probably going to end up getting 40-series card, which makes me a sad panda.

Apparently with the Witcher specifically though, it's actually a CPU bottlenecking issue, not GPU. I believe Plague Tale is actually better balanced in that regard, so it may hold up better.

With G-sync I'm fine all the way down to about 50-fps, it's below that that things start feeling rough to me (though apparently even with a 4090 and 12900k The Witcher 3 update will be in the 30's-40's in the major cities unless you turn on DLSS3...)

Not gonna play it any time soon (still need to play the Hitman 2 expansion levels and I want to 100% the game before moving on to Hitman 3) but they just announced they'll delist the first two games and rebrand Hitman 3 as Hitman: World of Assassination. It'll now include the H1 and H2 levels, so they'll also be jacking up the price. Since I already own the first two games, I decided to grab the game now while it's on sale.

Oh and I forgot this one in my last post but I also got this:

GFtlDpR.jpg

It was paired up with Gloomwood in a bundle on Steam, which immediately got me curious and then I realized I had seen a trailer for it a while back and it looked really cool. I still haven't touched the full version of Gloomwood but I'm always down for some retro immersive sims.

Well at this point they would've had like two years to play the game so I don't really see the problem here.

Also hey, they can finally fully realize their vision of a single platform for all this content! Square-Enix dropping IOI really fucked up this whole trilogy's content release plans. I'm pretty sure Hitman 2 and 3 were supposed to just be seasons for Hitman 2016...

Thought about getting some other stuff, but my backlog currently has a bunch of games I actually really want to play, so I'll be trying to get through some of those before buying anything else for a while (so I say lol, let's see how long that lasts :P).

Some of the games I want to try and finish:

  • Dragon's Crown Pro
  • Valkyria Chronicles (PC)
  • Valkyria Chronicles 4
  • Metroid Dread
  • Monster Monpiece
  • Moero Crystal
  • Seven Pirates H
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Nier Automata
  • Death Stranding
  • Ghostbusters
  • Ghostrunner
  • Scarlet Nexus
  • Sekiro
  • Daemon X Machina

And more... But those are the ones at the top of my list lol.

Ooh, what's Heaven's Vault? Banner looks intersting.

IIRC it's the follow up game from the people who made 80 Days. I heard some really good things about it a few years ago but for one reason or another it skipped me by....until now.

Sony's PSVR 2 Gets A High Price And A Close Release Date

Okay so I know I said I wouldn't buy this at launch and normally I wouldn't but I'm going through a really rough period in my life right now and I just need something to look forward to to keep me going so I said fuck it, I'll forget about bargain hunting just this once and splurge on something fun.

I'm super hyped to finally play Returnal and to replay TLoU. Haven't touched it since my one playthrough way back on PS3, so I've been itching to revisit it for a while now.

Days Gone was like 12 bucks on GMG, which finally put it in "why the hell not" territory. And P3P, well... as disappointed as I am that that's the one they ended up porting, I still had to buy it. No idea when I'll even touch it, though, especially since I still need to finish P5R...

For me there's no "correct" version of Persona 3 to port, but P3P is the best of bad options. The inability to control your teammates in FES is a dealbreaker for me.

That said, I wish they'd made some kind of ultimate edition that includes all the upgrades from both P3P and FES.

The thing is, if they had ported FES then adding party control would surely have been trivial. But yeah, the rumor is there's a remake in the works so hopefully it's true because this is one game that badly needs it.

Real shame you grabbed Days Gone in a sale and not at full price which would totally have signalled to Sony that a sequel was due.

I still need to play Iceborne but it was down to 20 bucks and I guess that's my "fuck it" price range.

This was definitely more than 20 bucks but it was almost 200$ off (a little over 300 instead of almost 500) and I've been wanting it for years, so I didn't hesitate.
