Thursday Next
I've got plenty of space for some warns... mwuhahahaha! I'm not really going to spoil it. I actually like seeing people get stoked for a game that I played a tiny part in helping to bring to market.
Thursday Next
Okay... for those of you who have finished the single player campaign... Did you notice the other "person" running about? If you go back to "The Itch" and play the Test where Wheatley says something like "Oh, I can't find an exit, let me bring another one over." and look at the other test chamber you should notice another character dash through the exit. I've not seen them anywhere else, but I'm gonna be searching every nook and cranny now.
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
I need help... It's the level right after you listen to Johnson's threat to create a lethal lemon. I've gotten close to the top of that section, but I'm stuck on this puzzle with each goo from the previous test chambers. I reached the floor directly above it, but I still need to get to that ladder thing and climb higher. Any help would be appreciated! EDIT: http://steamcommunity.com/id/thecheese33/screenshots/?tab=& I included an image, just to show what I'm having trouble with. Now do exactly the same thing you did to get up there (propulsion + repulsion + portals on white goo). You will bounce on the blue goo and fly over. Definitely noticed that, interesting to see how the co-op bots become linked to the actual story.. in terms of wheatley getting bored and glados not having any reason to keep you in the labs. Pirandello
For the length and co-op-ness of the game, would you guys recommend Portal 2 at it's current price tag? Just went on a spending spree and now I'm sort of waiting for the storm of deals again, but might be willing to make an exception if the game is, well.. exceptional. CorgiShinobi
I think Portal 2 is worth the $59.99 price. Just the fact that I can play with people on PS3, PC, and Mac with ease is worth some kind of monetary appreciation. I've almost completed the co-op campaign with an old friend, but trust me, going through a marathon of the 4 out of 5 courses gets to you. We'll finish it next evening. I'm almost done with single player as well. I'm kinda stuck however... I don't know how to properly describe it, but I'm at the part where I'm trying to use the stairs leading to "1981" from the earlier dated rooms. Basically, it's also where GLaDOS gets spooked by the bird. I can't quite figure it out! Kinda sucks that PSN is down for maintenance because I wanted to try my PC copy. My Steam ID is, since I signed up on PS3: Sheikah88 (So yeah, just like my PSN ID)

Mr W Phallus
To anyone who has actually played the coop (specifically PC) is my lack of a mic going to be a major inhibiting factor? Is there a text chat option or anything like that to make teamwork still possible?

Is there a text chat option or anything like that to make teamwork still possible? There's a chat. You can also ping locations for your partner to look at or place portals, and holding the Tab key (by default) will show the Partner Cam, essentially showing you what they see. It's very well made for co-op.
Mr W Phallus
That's good to know, now I just need my friend to get home from work and finish the SP campaign and hopefully he'll be up for some coop.
TheMightyEthan
So I got a code for the rollcage skin for the coop campaign bots, and I entered the code and it seemed to activate properly, but I can't figure out how to turn the skin on. Does anyone know?
Mr W Phallus
I'm presuming you tried the Robot Enrichment page?
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, and all the categories only gave me the option of "empty". Not that I care all that much, I think the rollcages are ugly, but damnit I preordered the game and so I want my cookie!

Items disappear, reappear, then disappear again.
Mr W Phallus
I wish they'd clarify what you have to do to unlock items in the game. Well to be honest I'm never going to buy an item myself, but I unlocked a hat through achievements that I saw on sale in a screen shot - some people are going to be pissed if they end up unlocking an item they just bought. CorgiShinobi
Has anyone, with a PS3 version, been successful with the "First Time Sign-In" once you've linked your two accounts in Portal 2? I would be willing to say I'm probably the only one here who just got Steam because of Steamworks via PS3.
Vargras
Portal 2 is apparently sexist. Steam forums topic Source article I don't think these people have ever played Portal or Portal 2 at all.
TheMightyEthan
A lot of the comments on the article are ragging on the author for how retarded it is. *Edit* - But then I just realized that those people seem to have been linked there from the Steam forums, and are mostly men. So there's that.
BrainHurtBoy...2
My (former) friend's thoughts on Portal 2: 12 hours of play for $50~=$4/hour. Not a very good investment. With the exception of movies, I can't think of a more expensive type of entertainment (even DirecTV with every channel is only about $2/hr even if you average less than 2 hours per day of consumption). Contrast with something like Halo which provides about 16 hours for first run through, enough enjoyment to do a second run through on a harder mode at probably twice the time and then co-op (which could be zero or hundreds of hours depending on individual) or Borderlands which is probably 50+ hours for a single player on first run through or something from Bethesda (Fallout, Oblivion) that's hundreds of hours on first run through. Game designers should be targeting sub $1/hour costing. Fans should be insulted with anything less. </soapbox> Rage Away.
