Vargras Posted January 16, 2011 Report Share Posted January 16, 2011 I'm seriously amazed Dice hasn't made a sequel of some sort for Battlefield 2142 yet. Most of the time these days, if someone makes an online shooter of some sort, it's almost always GRITTY REALISM SET IN THE CURRENT YEAR. Having things set in the future was actually fun - Dice could take some liberties with some things, like weapons or vehicles, and basically just said "Have at it". Who's to say we won't have giant flying battlecruisers in the future? The class system? Fairly well balanced. The upgrades were neat as well, you could pick what you wanted and further specialize within that class (considering the classes were usually pairings of two other ones from the previous BF games). Titan Mode? Ridiculously fun, I really enjoyed running the troop transport vehicles and hauling allies back and forth. Destroying the reactor core on the enemy Titan and then running for your life to jump off before it blew up was so satisfying. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I remember not having the money to pick it up when it came out, and now that I remember it, I can't find it? Battlefield 2 is on there, why not 2142...? I had a lot more fun with BF2142 than I ever did with BF2, but they just kinda gave up on BF2142 it seems. I can't even run BF2142 in fullscreen, it's practically perma-stuck at 800x600.
