TheMightyEthan
Oh, holy shit, I just realized I already have D3 on Vita from PS+. That makes it a lot easier to check out...
Vecha
Damn...wished I would have gotten on the PS Plus bus earlier....would love to have that in my "free" area of plus games. Maybe if I wait long enough...4 will become free around the time 5 is released? Or would that take away from 5 sales?
toxicitizen
D4 just came out on Vita less than a month ago, I wouldn't wait for it. Your cheapest options right now would be the PSP versions of D1 or D2. They're like 15-20$ on PSN.
toxicitizen
Lol. It looks fucking identical based on this. Wonder what they're gaining by skipping PS3. Oh well, hopefully that means a Vita version will still be possible.
Mal
There's really not much they can visually improve on. Having 3D models wouldn't be a good thing and if you try to smooth out the terrain, it'll start looking weird. Unless of course Disgaea gameplay suddenly turns into something more like Valkyria Chronicles (minus the shooting bit)... actually, would that work? Could Disgaea still be wacky in that sort of perspective?
Mister Jack
Well they could at least do story cutscenes that are more than just a bunch of talking heads.
Mal
But then it would require an animation studio for it to jive well with the rest of the game. That is why a Valkyria Chronicles model is intriguing. The models were used for both gameplay and cutscenes. Disgaea doesn't seem like it can. Vecha
I'm alright with it staying as animated sprite-like models. Artwork looks pretty good!
