MetalCaveman
I like that they introduced it by having it stand up in the most horrifying way possible lol

Ukrainian side. As for Gaza, it's drones with guns. War has changed... In the US, I recall police using drones or bots to murder people. deanb
This is pretty fascinating. I do miss Tomorrows World. I remember as a kid them showing off "self driving cars". (and here they have a clip from 30 years ago with electric cars!)
TheMightyEthan
I remember as a kid watching a show talking about how in the future cars would all be self driving because there'd be magnets embedded along the center line of each lane and the cars would have magnetic sensors in the bumpers so they'd be able to follow the lanes. TheMightyEthan
Not strictly technology, but fuck it: https://www.reuters.com/science/scientists-find-strongest-evidence-yet-life-an-alien-planet-2025-04-16/ Quote In a potential landmark discovery, scientists using the James Webb Space Telescope have obtained what they call the strongest signs yet of possible life beyond our solar system, detecting in an alien planet's atmosphere the chemical fingerprints of gases that on Earth are produced only by biological processes. Quote "The only scenario that currently explains all the data obtained so far from JWST (James Webb Space Telescope), including the past and present observations, is one where K2-18 b is a hycean world teeming with life," Madhusudhan said. "However, we need to be open and continue exploring other scenarios."
TheFlyingGerbil
I think proof positive of extraterrestrial life is not going to be as exciting as I want it to be. I'm not saying I want to have little green men landing on the Whitehouse lawn but a rover physically seeing something incontrovertible rather than a "we can't explain this chemical signature in another way" would be more satisfying. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, would be cool if a Europa submarine like got a video of a space squid or something.
