I was way more convinced she was dead seconds BEFORE she did that. And I just thought so much time was wasted on Blake. He just runs around aimlessly for the entire movie, not really doing anything. He finds Gordon, but doesnt save him at the hospital, does his obligatory "im just like you, Batman" speech, DOESNT save the police from being trapped in the sewers because he was too late, when its time to save the cops he throws the bomb, but Batman sets it off, and the bus full of children? A waste. A completely waste of time. It was also kind of lame how they revealed his name to be Robin at the end. It felt bad. Him also discovering the batcave took like 5 minutes too much. I shut off the movie once The Bat blows up. I got all the enjoyment from it i was going to get. Goddammit, he was useless. But I will take back him being talentless, he was fantastic in 50/50. That's the whole point of Blake's story arc. Everything he does as an officer of the law is a failure. He goes to interrogate Bane's henchmen and kills them both. He discovers that the plan to go underground is a trap, but too late. He fails to save Gordon. He fails to save his fellow officers. He fails to save the children. I dont want a Robin side story in my pretty good Batman movie when the movie is 3 hours long. It just fucks the movie up. The movie moves way too fast too accommodate it and its still too long as far as running time goes. Id rather wish theyd spend that entire time on being more indepth with Batman, Bane and Catwoman. Or shit, maybe Talia. She's such a noncharacter in the movie. Didnt care for her being the main villain at all, even after Bruce fucked her brains out(probably). Could have dumped Bruce in the gulag then come back six real months later, that way I would have actually noticed that some time was meant to have passed.
