TheMightyEthan
I also never understood from TDK why, if people found out Harvey went on a killing spree that would magically mean everyone he put in jail would get out. Seems related to all the "Dent Act being built on a lie" stuff.

Mister Jack
I also never understood from TDK why, if people found out Harvey went on a killing spree that would magically mean everyone he put in jail would get out. Seems related to all the "Dent Act being built on a lie" stuff. I'm just pulling this out of my ass but maybe they felt that if people knew Harvey's true nature that it would make it really easy for all those criminals to get appeals or to cast doubt on the entire RICO case since nobody can really know for sure just how long Harvey was involved in illegal activities. deanb
So I watched this the other day, yet to put my thoughts down but now responding to what you lot have written and such while posting my own thoughts. On the passage of time: I felt it kinda obvious a fair chunk of time passed, and beyond the bomb stuff of it going from 5 months to under a month to under a day I don't think any other passages of time mattered much, especially with Waynes side of things. Would it have changed the film much to know he was in the sling for 2 months and made a leap attempt once a fortnight? Characters: The whole Dagget/Owen Harper side of things could have easily been knocked off. All it did was help set up Wayne losing everything, but I think Bane could have done it under his own motivation (later revealed to be Tallias), with Dagget just being mentioned as a potential competitor and the story still flow on fine. Bane just killed Dagget in the end anyway, I don't think there was any reason to have Dagget involved. Especially since imo all Dagget is good for is low level crime and developing the chemical mix that put disfigured actor Matt Hagen back into work. Robin could have gone too (especially with that stupid name. I expected him to say Dick Grayson/Tim Drake too, not straight out "Robin". He served very little role beyond being a competent police officer and to be robin. I think more Fox and Alfred would work too. Especially Alfred, all he did in this film was give speeches on how Bruce was going to die, and then how he had died. Bit of a debbie downer this time round. None of his monologues on tangerines. Tallia could go to, she's only there in order to tie back to Batman Begins with the "destory gotham" manifesto. But Bane could pull that reasoning off off too on his own, it was already established he was League of Shadows too. Basically Dagget and Talia are a "or" as far as characters go. It'd be pretty workable without one or the other. The rope: Yeah he threw one down. Also it was Banes prison, and he generally kept the rape n pillaging types around with him and had them fine with killing themselves. I think those down there are folks that didn't obey Bane. Batwing: Yeah it was tumbler type thing that something specifically made for him. Kinda weird he'd never suggested it before now. It looked a shit ton cooler than the leaked footage made it out to be too, with the rear end n such (of course the read end with the big propeller was the part attached to the rig, so that was all CGI'd in. Technically they did cover the profits, in that they lost a shit ton of profits in dumping the nuclear reactor so they needed to turn it on to recoup profits. So it was kind of a fundamental part of the film. For me mainly all that happened is that Bane wasn't Uma Thurmans bane, and that he did this Shame he kinda sounded like a bad sean connery accent throughout, but that did also add a bit of fun to the film. Shame on his death. Was rather sudden and not very smart. Especially considering he makes a point of not killing Joker and of having Ra's fall to his death. On it being the weaker of the three it's still kinda like saying K2 isn't as big as Everest. It's still a very enjoyable film. Oh and the film had me popping onto IMDB because dude on the bridge at end looked familiar. Turned out he's grown up Jesie from Taken (The Spielberg one not Liam Neeson one)

danielpholt
As much as i adore the woman and want to marry her and have her children...i can't get over how awfully bad Marion Cottilard's death scene is. Talk about a Cliche. I've obviously never died, but i hope i don't go out in that fashion. Also... Its got its own meme now. http://peopledyinglikemarioncotillard.tumblr.com/
TheMightyEthan
From that Cracked thing, this cracked me up (I'm sorry, I couldn't figure out a better way to phrase that): ANNE HATHAWAY: Oh? Let me guess, the whole hobbling around on a cane thing is just part of your act and you're about to show everyone you're still a badass? ANNE knocks the cane out of BALE'S hand and he falls over, wheezing and groaning pathetically. ANNE HATHAWAY: Oh. Wow, this is going to be a long three hours. I was really disappointed at that part of the movie.

deanb
The face of Bruce Wayne (composite of the various actors that've played him over the years) Also TDKR is still a pretty weak entry in the series. Part of me is like "buy it, round out the trilogy" "Don't buy it, it's kinda naf" "It's still better than many other films". If I see it on sale I'll likely end up with it I guess.
Chewblaha
NUKE GONNA GO OFF IN FIFTYSEVEN SECONDS? I rewatched it with my sisters, and a second viewing doesn't really help it. Or at least, it helps in some regards, but fares worse in others. I get the sense this really wasn't the film that Nolan wanted to make, and it's too rushed. And yeah, I didn't ask for it for Christmas myself, and I'd only pick it up to complete the trilogy. TheMightyEthan
It wasn't the film Nolan deserved, it was the one he needed right now. I'm sorry, I had to. But yeah, I totally agree it's the weakest of the series. Still it's really only bad in comparison to the first two.
CorgiShinobi
Pretty much what was already said by others, and really I wanted to complete the trilogy and I got the Blu-ray (eventually) when it was $17.96 on Amazon. What would life be without Amazon?
deanb
So Batman of the Future and Beyond. I used to quite like it as a kid, though didn't get to watch it all due to the whole "it's on Cartoon Network" (or similar Sky channel) thing. I quite liked Shriek, especially the scene where he goes Death. McGinnis was a bit of a nob, but that did mean character development, and always awesome to have Bruce around being old but still Batman. Strangelove
I liked Batman Beyond, but I always felt it was a ripoff of Spider-man. But I really can't explain why.
madbassman39
As a huge Spider-man fan, that must be the reason why I liked Batman Beyond so much.
Strangelove
Same here. At the time the show came out, I didnt have internet and I didnt read comics, so a cartoon based on comic book characters about a teenager having bad shit happen to his family, wanting revenge, gaining some type of power(whether supernatural or technological) to get his revenge, but not going through with it because he's better than that, and then finally fighting crime from there on out was all Spider-man stuff to me. CorgiShinobi
Batman Beyond was fantastic. It does its own thing based on the previous series rather than thousands of comic books. The movie, Return of the Joker, was both creepy and excellent in terms of drama and fan service. Want to know something that hasn't aged well? Tim Burton's Batman. I loved it as a kid, though you slap Batman onto anything and I would love it. I watched it a few days ago and it's all kinds of cheeeeeeeeeese. Oh, and massive amounts of awkward. You soon realize that Batman can't turn his head, so he's like a very stiff and mediocre crime fighter. Though I have to ask, kid... You ever dance with the devil in the pale moon light? toxicitizen
Uh, woah. So, the next Superman movie is apparently going to have Batman in it. http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/07/20/report-supermanbatman-movie-planned I can't believe this is actually happening. Whoever they cast is gonna have some pretty big shoes to fill.
TCP
Me reading the press release: "On the heels of the worldwide success of Man of Steel, director Zack Snyder is bringing together the two greatest Super Heroes of all time..."
