toxicitizen
And now we have our official first look at Selina Kyle/Catwoman. Can't say this one does much for me. And while it doesn't really bother me, that doesn't look much like Catwoman. Though I guess this isn't necessarily the full costume. deanb
I'll leave it as a link as it could be spoilerific. Not in a plot sense but a "what is in the film" sense.

deanb
Another shot of the Bat-Wing (I'm not a fan) Also the poster http://www.empireonl...y.asp?NID=32661 is strongly implying that the "batman dies" rumour is rather true. I guess it is a reason why you'd bring in Bane of villains from his rouge gallery.
Strangelove
Ummm...is the Bat-wing a plane? It doesnt look like one.
deanb
It's on a stand. While the Tumbler is a fully working vehicle, I don't think they could knock together a plane. There's a video of it in action earlier on in the thread. Unless you know that and are commenting on the general ugliness and "what the fuck is this? just sheets of metal arranged together?" look of it then yeah I agree. Hot Heart
I wouldn't have a problem with him dying, but I get the feeling it might all be a tease and it's essentially about finally being able to retire 'The Bat', with Gotham now 'saved'. EDIT: And, yeah, the Batwing does look kinda weird. It looks sort of like Jack from Gears of War, or the things from Batteries Not Included. OBLIGATORY: I trust Nolan. excel_excel
Damn, its gone already. I'LL FIND IT. I watched it on my phone last night, but was really drunk and tired so all I remember was that there was a plane and Bane was on said plane. CorgiShinobi
I saw the trailer that was coupled with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Everything was great, even the Batwing! Well, actually, Anne Hathaway's acting was a little concerning, but it was one scene mind you.
deanb
This shouldn't be going down now that it's all up officially.
Strangelove
Im not really impressed by this and im actually looking forward to the Avengers a lot more. I must be fucked up in the head. Actually thinking about it now, I felt really uncomfortable with how the Dark Knight became so overrated and Inception followed suit. And in that time Ive seen Thor and Captain America, two movies I really liked from Marvel. Its been a while since Ive seen a new Batman film. Ill probably change my mind once I see this in the theater. I saw The Dark Knight 3 times at the theater. Ive never seen a film more than twice at a theater, so its a pretty big deal to me. That being said, I only saw my bluray of the Dark Knight once. I got tired of it quickly. I prefer Begins a lot more nowadays. /hipsterrant
Hot Heart
Looks interesting. Definitely does seem to be going the 'Bane breaking Batman's back route' once you figure out what the hell Bane says to the injured Bruce Wayne. Which sort of leads me to think that perhaps the 'Batman dies' rumours/tease is playing off of that element anyway. Anywway, I am still totally stoked. TheMightyEthan
I think that Bat-Wing design would have worked a lot better for some v-tol helicopter-type craft. Like this kind of thing:
Thursday Next
I think that Bat-Wing design would have worked a lot better for some v-tol helicopter-type craft. That's what it is isn't it? It certainly doesn't have a traditional Bernoulli style airfoil. I assumed it was a jump-jet sort of craft.
deanb
It's certainly a V-tol type, but I wouldn't say a V-tol helicopter type like you see in Avatar and such.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, the helicopter-like part was really the more important part. It just doesn't look like a plane, v-tol or otherwise.
Thursday Next
Ahhh! I see. It was the lack of rotor blades that put you off. I'll be much happier suspending my disbelief when I see it using directional thrust to take off in a harrier style. (As massively inefficient as such a system must be).
TheMightyEthan
Even the harrier has wings. That kind of system is fine for take-off and landing, but it doesn't work well for sustained flight and (more importantly for a movie) looks unnatural/unrealistic. That said though, we've seen little of it, and depending on how they do it it could still work. For instance, if it's like this kind of thing: where the entire turbine assembly rotates, allowing vertical thrust for sustained flight, then I think it could work. Strangelove
Is that seriously her "mask?" Did Nolan just got to Party City and grab the first "cat" mask he could find? That looks really cheap.
