Tinkelp
Only because all the hot babes that were keep it warm left to go be with Duke.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Did anyone get to play it at PAX West?
NeoStarr
My favourite part of the trailer was everything. Â Also; brief shrink ray footage @ 1:35 in the first vid. FUCK YES SHRINK RAY.
MetalCaveman
Really excited for it! Don't care about those dudes that are like "so what if it sucks? What if it's not good?" It's freaking Duke Nukem! What more do you want!? Â Also, look at that box art! Â
TheMightyEthan
I'm still pissed that they're actually releasing it. I wanted it to stay in dev-hell forever, as this legend.

Mister Jack
This game will be a disappointment. Â Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's good and I'll love it. But after 12 years a lot of people are expecting Jesus Christ in plastic disc form and that's just not going to happen. And that kinda bums me out. The long wait has built up unrealistic expectations in a lot of people.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Sort of both as I did just throw that out there at first. Â The more I thought about it the more I think it makes sense. With a game like this, I actually grew tired of all of the jokes as it was the same thing over and over. That's not much of a legacy to be "that game" nor is it very fun after a few years. It was only fun again when they released more stuff about it/officially killed (before it got picked up again,) That cycle would have to continue or else it would just fade away and would only appear in top ten lists of games that never happened and stuff like that which IMO, is where it becomes worthless. It's nice to actually see a close to this chapter, to see this legend affirmed as something that only mattered in the first place, because people really did want another duke nukem game. Now we're getting it. It comes down to the game, and enjoying the game, and you can't do that with simply a story. It is just a video game. The legend wasn't that "legendary." Looks like a rent or pirate at the minimum.
TheMightyEthan
Well yeah, calling it a legend was an exaggeration to say the least. But I was hoping it would be this thing that would always be in "active development" and yet never actually come out.

I trust gearbox they make fun games.
Cyber Rat
I don't trust Gearbox, to be honest, but I am gonna play it day one. I just feel it is my obligation as a gamer, but I have my expectations very very very low.
Yantelope
I'm actually a little sad that it's actually going to be released. I liked the mythical game that never got released story. It seems like the DNF jokes just wont be as funny anymore.

NeoStarr
I don't trust Gearbox, to be honest, but I am gonna play it day one. Â Me neither, but I'm pretty sure 3D Realms did most of the work on this one and I can dig that. Sure they haven't made a game since 1997, but frankly I'm too excited to see another game by them to worry too much about whether or not they can hold their own against modern developers. I was always more of a 3D Realms kid than an id kid. Build engine games were so awesome.
deanb
Regarding 3D Realms potentially doing most of the work (which I wouldn't disbelieve for a second) do you think they'll run it as just Gearbox, or if they will stick 3D Realms logo at the start somewhere? As for my opinion on the game: Somewhat disappointed it's actually coming. Cos once it's out n it's done that it, it loses it's magic. I also don't think it'll be that great. Not really looking forward to Bulletstorm for similar reasons too. I just think the game is 12 years too late. A product of the 90's but attitudes and the types of games we get have changed. I'm also unsure if the COD/BF/Halo crowd will buy into it or if it's mostly going to get sales from old fans and it's legendary status. Faiblesse Des Sens
I'm all for something light-hearted, funny, and a crude. There isn't enough of that in the genre anymore and certainly not much where it's done well. It's been years.
Strangelove
This game is going to blow. Or at the most itll be mediocre. Â Its also going to sell badly to the point that itll never get a sequel. Most people are just excited that its actually going to finally be released, but i dont think many are going to buy it. The people who remember duke nukem are a little older now and a lot of us dont buy 60 dollar poo. Were the ones who want it and were the ones who cant be pleased. Â Its snakes on a plane all over again....stupid innernet tricking stupid people. Edited January 21, 2011 by Strangelove

CorgiShinobi
The new trailer pretty much explains why people will give it a chance: violence, nudity, and humor. Â I don't have fond memories of the series, but that trailer got a few laughs out of me, i.e. "Ah hell, I'd still hit it."
Bizzenya
I loved Duke Nukem back in the day. Lots of clever secrets, good level design and multiplayer was a blast. Here's hoping Forever doesn't feel like a hold over from the 90's.
Mister Jack
Kinda sad how the DNF and Crysis 2 trailers use the exact same song on more or less the exact same day.
