Mortal Kombat

Thinking of getting this sometime, particularly for the mass of single player content. Capcom take note.

Yeah. Whether you like Mortal Kombat or not, there's no denying that the newest game has the greatest single-player offering a fighting game has ever kollected. The Challenge Tower has 300 levels, and it's a really fun, wacky way to perfect your skills. Scorpion and Mileena get into a fight because Scorpion refuses to accept her teddy bear.

Also, if you were looking for a new Mortal Kombat movie, the campaign is your answer. It's just as cheesy and awesome as the first movie, and the story actually engages you from beginning to end (even though Shao Khan sucks).

How are enhanced special moves worthless? Everyone seemed fine with them in Street Fighter.

I'm not saying the CONCEPT is worthless. It works in plenty of other fighters. But in MK, they are not enhanced enough to make it worth the cost.

I would disagree with you on that point, but to each his own.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuullshit. Did you even spend an hour playing the game with people who know what they're doing?

But this is the best they've ever done, and if they pushed a little more, it could be a tournament worthy game.

Already a bunch of tournaments for it and it's been confirmed for EVO. Then again, Marvel VS Capcom 2 was on EVO and that's as balanced as an angry drunk Scotsman on a trampoline.

Yeah, If I remember correctly, there's a team of characters that make you unstoppable if you choose them in MvC 2.

Since you seem to be having trouble with this concept... watch the video that YOU linked, and count the number of Enhanced Moves Liu Kang does. Or Johnny Cage. Very, very few? Yeah. What were you saying, again? =P

In Street Fighter, people use EX all the goddamn time. In MK, with some characters it's worth it, with some characters it's just not. And an option that is never useful is not an option, it's just clutter.

Been watching a lot of matches, and playing as well, and a well-placed Enhanced move can make all the difference. Of course, you have to make a call whether you're better off using a breaker or an Ex move. Just because you don't see them flying as much as in Street Fighter hardly means it's clutter. I agree that some Ex moves are more useful than others, but most of them have a good use. There's a reason every combo or strategy video says "And then use teleport because it builds meter".

Also, wanna base an uninformed biased opinion on an entire game by watching one video clip?

Street Fighter 2 sure did define the genre! Such an amazing fireball game! (the clip is a Japanese tournament match, btw)
