  1. 1. Which one are you getting?

    • X (The "X" makes it sound cool.)
      3
    • Y (Is 1 better than "X".)
      4
    • Both (Gotta catch 'em all.)
      0
    • Neither (I hate fun.)
      1
    • Holding out for Z (Waiting makes it better.)
      2

Didn't see a thread about this. I was expecting the games to be good, the usual Pokemon game but didn't expect this, seems they are going all out for the last DS Pokaymans. Proper Sprite animations in battles look great. I'm just impressed its actually getting released FIRST in Europe! Take that America!

I'm debating on getting this for the fiancee and myself. We got HG/SS last year and spent a couple months with each other trading Pokemon and catching them all. Anyway, I'm just not sure if we'll have the same fun with B/W. Most of the fun of HG/SS was the classic Pokemon.

This sums it up:

I quite like the D/P starters. R/S were by far the worst, but I love those games anyway.

Eehh.. I'm still not sure if I should get this game or not. Part of me knows it's always the same, so I shouldn't be buying it, but somehow I always end up getting it anyway.

Hehe, yeah, same here. I never even finished HeartGold, but I'll probably pick this up at some point. I just wish they would do something a bit different with the battle system. It has some great depth, but it feels really stale compared to what other RPGs are doing.

I'm actually pretty excited compared to the other new Pokémon gens. The rooster didn't really catch my eye, at least anymore than 3rd or 4th gen, but I am excited about seeing "New York" city in Pokémon.

On a less gaming related note, me and my friend are planning to each buy the different versions of the game as we usually do. The problem this time is that I'm buying the white version and he's buying the black. Problem:

I'm white, he's black. We both feel fairly awkward over this.

You should go buy them from the same store at the same time.

Note: No previous generation pokemon can be caught until you defeat all the gym leaders

By effect, none can be traded either since you'll only have new pokemon to trade

Reminds me of when I first started playing Sapphire. I think it's why I had so much more fun with HG because it was Pokemon I knew and cared about.

Diamond and Pearl are a little slow to start, and I felt Platinum was a huge improvement over those 2. As for Black/White, outside of Smugleaf and his evolutions, none of the new designs excite me, so I honestly don't think I'll bother.

It definitely took me a lot of effort to push through the first half of Platinum, but it was fun and the storyline was actually pretty good and easy to follow. Reminds me of R/S/E. The storyline there was good, but it was a little harder to follow because there weren't many encounters with the enemy, but in Platinum they seem to be a constant threat.

Black/White honestly doesn't look all that interesting. My biggest dilemma is who I would choose as my starter. Smugleaf looks the best, but he's a grass type and I already have another grass type in mind. :/

Definitely going to pick it up. Two dilemmas, however, stand in the way. A girly friend of mine wants to get white, so do I (incidentally, we're both choco-brown skinned). I had told her I was going to buy her whichever version she wanted, but recently I've gotten all into Ruby and the big nerd inside me said "Screw her, just get both FO YO SELF". Should I do this? Get both versions for me and be a huge nerd?

Second dilemma, Picking a starter.

Smugleaf looks the best, but he's a grass type and I already have another grass type in mind. :/

This. I love me some Solid Snivy and it's evolutions are just great. Oshawott is also very tempting, haters gonna hate, but for some reason I can relate to this cute sad expression, plus his last evolution screams badass.

Anyone mind helping me out?

I'm actually really liking the starters. Best since GS!...hmm...the fire one evolves into a fire/fighting type, the rest just stay the one type. I think I'll go for Snivy her last evolution is awesome! looking through the list I'm seeing some great designs...
