deanb
How'd you do that. At first I assumed it was the new watch, but the fact every time pokemon boots up it asks to connect I guess c-gear is multiplayer related. Which seems a huge waste of the bottom screen space. Especially now I have an item finder and you have to manually enable that rather than just adding it to a watch like in previous games. (which I do like that they've heavily tweaked the "register" thing, just dislike the wasted bottom screen)
Toshi
Well when you load a save game it asks you if you want to turn it on, and I opt not to. If you do have it on in game already, there's a small power button at I think the lower right to turn it off. You can register the Item Finder to Y by checking the box at the bottom of the screen while highlighting the item. It saves me time for a bunch of items. deanb
Yeah I know how to register items. Just saying, does the c-gear thing ever become more than a grey hex grid?
Toshi
That... no. It will really only be useful when dream world is released I think.

CorgiShinobi
There was so much explaining in-game about the C-Gear, I'm kinda glad I don't have online functionality so I don't have to think any further on it. Makes me wonder if the younger Pokemon trainers actually get what the heck that little sprite was telling them. So yeah, I turn off C-Gear when booting my save file and I have the "Dowsing Machine" registered to the Y button. EDIT: Oh, almost forgot! If anyone else concerns themselves with stats, take note on the Nature of your Pokemon! List of Natures For example, while my Galvantula is awesome, it has Sassy for its nature. Sassy means that while Sp. Def receives a 10% increase, the Speed stat receives a 10% decrease! I'd rather it have a Calm (+Sp. Def, -Attack) nature as I'm not using the base Attack stat. Though, really, I guess it's the second best nature as even with a 10% decrease, Galvantula is still fast. Just, you know, not as fast as most other Galvantula. EDIT2: Actually, as I have Light Screen, I would probably want Galvantula to have a Bold (+Defense, -Attack) nature. Hot Heart
Some of the changes in design from Platinum are annoying. I'm not even sure it actually improves on anything beyond being able to register more than one item, but even that's a nuisance because of how it's implemented. You have to keep opening your registered item menu to equip the dowsing machine or your bicycle if you just happened to want to switch round pokeymans or do pretty much anything involving a menu. I also liked having that wheel you can spin with the stylus to scroll faster.
TCP
I like the C-Gear, it's very handy if you're playing with someone else. Being able to trade any Pokemon you've caught at any time, without having to backtrack to a Pokecenter is fantastic. I only use it though when I'm playing with my girlfriend, when I'm on my own, I turn it off to save battery. It'd be great if, when it's off, instead of being an empty grid, they just put the menu down there, so you didn't need to press X.
CorgiShinobi
I finished the story of Pokemon Black/White. I thought it was a decent ending. It wasn't simply a, "Your Pokemon like you, ok that be good!" N said that... While he had been traveling, he would always hear how the Pokemon would enjoy being with their trainers. He was shocked to hear your Pokemon praise you, and so he began to be confused with Pokemon themselves. As for the actual Pokemon battles... EFF MAN! I got my team to be around Lv. 51-52, so N wasn't actually that bad of an opponent. Kinda lame how Zekrom was Lv. 50, you know, because of how... Ghetsis had a Lv. 54 Hydreigon with Dragon Pulse, Fire Blast, Surf, and Force Blast! Basically, if that Pokemon was going to be lame, I was going to be lame. Go Zekrom! *Revive Haxorus* Zekrom fainted! Go Haxorus! *Revive Zekrom* Haxorus fainted! Go Zekrom! Repeat for 11 more times and that's how I got that Pokemon to deplete its Power Points for Dragon Pulse. Hot Heart
Really? I found it quite simple, especially since there's a nurse before the 'pro trainers'. But then I did have my Dewott and Krokorok.

CorgiShinobi
I'm kinda confused at what to really do after finishing the main story. I found one of the Sages, but I know the rest will be along the new areas and such. Do I go to the White Forest right now, because going to the Dreamyard basement was almost suicide. I've only found two old Pokemon; Goldeen and Gligar. So, yeah, not such a happy reunion.

Victini Samurott Darumaka EDIT: Scraggy Foongus Flying electric rat guy That is a bit of an odd setup, and you're even using a legendary. Surprised your Samurott did not see you through though. I think a Throh has been a real boon to my team though. Not only for going against normal types (like annoying Watchogs and Herdiers...and that bloody Stoutland) but other ones I might not be covered for. I got up the tower with: Dewott (evolved into a Samurott near the top) Throh Krokorok Unfezant Darmanitan Munna (I only really use that to catch wild pokemon. Should probably switch it out soon though, starting to show its weakness). They worked pretty well for most areas so far, although I'm definitely gonna have to switch some for the next gym. Not decided which electric pokemon to use (Emolga might be good...) and I'm considering using that bloody ice-cream again.
TCP
From IGN: Cheat: How to get Zorua Easily, No Event or Celibi Needed In your Internet settings in the DS menu, keep everything the same as usual, but change your Primary DNS server setting to this address: 205.185.126.109. You can leave the Secondary DNS setting alone. The DNS settings are a few tabs over when editing your Internet settings on the DSi. After this, be sure to save your settings (a test will occur as well). Enter the game and go to any Pokemon Center (you must have the ability to use the trading system on the upper level of the Pokemon Center, so you porbably need to be past the first Gym or so). Leave all but five Pokemon in your party so you have an empty slot for Zorua. Go to the upper levelof the Pokemon Center and Choose the girl on the far right to initiate a Global Wi-Fi Trade. Choose the setting called "GTS." You will automatically be taken to a screen where you recieve an egg. Quit out and check your party. Zorua should be in your sixth slot. Note: If Zorua remains an egg, you'll need to walk a bit with it in your party before it hatches.
CorgiShinobi
Gonna try that out. I'm sorry I didn't realize that Celebi event not too long ago would also unlock Zorua in the game because those two are friends!
ChiltonGaines
You guys are intense! Sometimes I can't help but go to Serebii.net, and since I'm not a kid, I can see that some pokemon are shitty, but it seems sort of a hassle to plan out my pokemon so thoroughly, though I know that it's likely as simple as going to "Summary" and checking out the stats. Though, I don't know what's weak in terms of where they should be relative to their level. Anyway, I'm in Chargestone Cave and my team is: Lv. 30 Pignite Lv. 30 Pansage Lv. 31 Conkeldurr (which I've inexplicably nickamed Wayne) Lv. 29 Munna Lv. 31 Gigalith Lv. 30 Zebstrika Munna I'm keeping because I've put so much time into it, I'm close to evolving it, and I fought Bianca and it seems like Musharna gets better, though Munna does piss me off with it's utterly pathetic defense. Conkeldurr I love, same with Gigalith. Pansage also pisses me off, and the only reason he and Zebstrika are still on my team is because of my stubborness. For some odd reason, I don't want to change my team around, since this is the one I've had since gym 2. It seems that a Galvantula is awesome to get, so that seems fine to grab. And I know I need to develop my Archen to get Archeops. I've got my eyes on Haxorus, Hydreigon, and that ghost/fire lamp when they become available as well. But right now, any recommendations on what to do to make this easier on myself? It seems like I've been making it harder than it is, because honestly, it's a bit of a chore to win fights sometimes. Also, why is it so damned hard to get exp. from wild encounters? And did they up the rate, because it's like you run into a fight every two steps! Bleh. Please tell me that the exp. boost item Juniper gives you in Chargestone is helpful and not a waste. P.S. Stoked for White Forest. I can get Aggron, Flygon, and Salamence? YES. Togepi is cute as well. Edited March 29, 2011 by ChiltonGaines
CorgiShinobi
The Lucky Egg helpful, and I believe Experience is relative to the Pokemon's level, but only when you've used two or more against an opponent. Really, you've got to go for a Joltik while you're in Chargestone. Galvantula is hands down the best Electric-type of Gen V. Since you started with Tepig, I wouldn't worry about Litwick. Really, the appropriate time to evolve him is at Lv. 61, so I had a Lampent while facing the Elite Four and so on. I've only been worrying about a team because while I was training Pokemon to face the ending, I wanted my time to be dedicated to Gen V Pokemon I could make a team out of for later in the game. Honestly, I'll probably resort to some tried-and-true classics to fill in some slots.

Hot Heart
Though, I don't know what's weak in terms of where they should be relative to their level. I don't think your pokemon should be massively flawed in any aspect because of something you've done wrong. Natures and such can affect what sort of stats they wind up with, but that's more of a high-level competitive play thing. I think one of the most important things to pay attention to is simply checking whether a particular pokemon is better at Attack or Special Attack. Then you know whether Physical moves or Special moves work better for them.

Then you know whether Physical moves or Special moves work better for them. Yeah, this is really important. While there might be an awesome Fighting-type move such as Force Blast, if the Pokemon isn't strong with Sp. Attack, it won't be a good move for the Pokemon because that's a Sp. Attack move. That's the reason why I had my Haxorus forget Dragon Pulse and keep Dragon Claw.
