  1. 1. Which one are you getting?

    • X (The "X" makes it sound cool.)
      3
    • Y (Is 1 better than "X".)
      4
    • Both (Gotta catch 'em all.)
      0
    • Neither (I hate fun.)
      1
    • Holding out for Z (Waiting makes it better.)

I grabbed it from torrents other day. Only like loaded it up for a brief spin. All fairly PC optimised to a degree (it's window only, no full screen option but you can change between "small/medium/large") so no going "well what's the A key on here" cos it's "Enter".)

There's two modes when starting, there's regular and Nuzlocke where it enforces the Nuzlocke rules if your'e in to that.

Heading out to do some shopping and Uranium pooped in my head as "why the fuck is this on PC and not mobile". Be cool if someone was to come along n help port it over. While it is nicely ported over to PC n such, Pokemon is inherently a handheld title. The 1cm2 pixels might look a bit less out of place on a mobile too :P

I'm trying to keep my cool here, but what we're seeing about Pokemon Sun and Moon seems honestly pretty great.  Replacing the 8 gyms and then elite four traditional structure with a regional rite of passage that's unique to these particular islands is cool.  Customizing your single player campaign to fit the content of your game, what a radical thought.

I'm also a big fan of the new forms of old pokemon.  It's basically the same notion as Mega pokemon.  The franchise can't support 150+ new creatures every installment, it's already near impossible to know all of them.  So both Mega pokemon and Alola form pokemon allow Gamefreak to return to and add to existing designs that are popular.  So you're adding new content, but it's built on what's familiar and well loved.

I also really REALLY dig the new random battle music.  Which is important.  These games are grindy as all hell.  There are an AWFUL lot of random battles.  The music's gotta be there.

My wish that hasn't been confirmed yet:  Could they bring back the double battle grass from Gen V please?  That was such a simple improvement.  Along every route there was the normal level grass for the first time through, and then there was slightly higher level grass with double battles for you to use if you wanted to get more XP/train at a higher level.  That was great for playing through the zones and leveling up your dudes.

Not exactly game related but apparently the Pokemon anime fans are salty as hell right now after it seemed like Ash/Satoshi was finally going to win a Pokemon league for once (the episode was even titled "Kalos League Victory!") after an entire season of buildup, let alone almost 20 years of the status quo, only to have victory snatched away from him in the very last round of the finals by a Deus Ex Machina for his opponent. I do believe it is time to accept that Ash is never, ever, EVER going to win a pokemon league.

Nah, believe it or not, much like Pokemon Go, older fans went back to watch the anime because Ash actually seemed capable of winning this time around. I myself watched the episodes surrounding the Kalos League and it's weird to see how much the show has evolved into an action-oriented shonen series. You've got Pokemon pulling off DBZ levels of fighting.

Still, I wasn't holding my breath that Ash would win. I do believe Ash is always going to be written to lose every League simply to give purpose to him traveling to the next game's region. The only problem now is that because Sun and Moon don't have a traditional League, what's Ash going to be up to? It's why people were suspecting him to win as well, so that he could accomplish that and move onto something different.

Not to mention the guy he lost to he has lost to two times before. Also Japan is crazy for Ash-Greninja, so this seemed like "third time's the charm." Stacked team and what not, but the show hasn't followed the rules of the game in many, many years. Pikachu beat two pseudo-Legendary Pokemon of all things, and Goodra is a legitimately good Pokemon in Gen 6, but Ash's seems to be a jobber.

Anyone with thoughts on the Pokebank? I just caught a shitload of Pokes in HeartGold and wouldn't mind bringing them into the new games. Course I'll have to transfer them 6 at a time (with a minigame apparently?) into Black and White first, which kind of sucks.
