TCP
If Sony wants to be serious about same day digital releases, they need to have their store updated in the morning (or even better, at midnight, isn't that what Steam does?). Updating at 7pm at night, plus an hours download, plus install time, means the majority of people can't even play their game the day it's released. Digital downloading is suppose to be about convenience but loses a lot of that when I can go to my local store and get that game at 10 am. Strangelove
Or they could say they update the store on wednesdays and just pull what they pulled yesterday.

I can imagine it being a deal for big titles that would have midnight releases. People are just impatient.
TheMightyEthan
You're right, people are impatient. If anything that's an argument in favor of what TCP said, not against it.

I was making the point that being impatient is a bad thing. Like when people lose their shit when Steam games don't come out at exactly midnight. Or valve time in general. The kings of the digital age are well known for doing shit later than people expect.
deanb
Impatience is only a "bad thing" when the digital stores don't deal with it. Releasing 19hrs into the day does somewhat defeat the point of being day-n-date with physical release. Especially when there's no reason to release that late except arbitary "cos that's how we do it" reasons.
Mister Jack
And Valve time should really not be used in any discussion about impatience because honestly, Valve time is ri-goddamn-diculous and goes well beyond reasonable limits. Faiblesse Des Sens
I don't think there really is a policy. I think the only policy is "release it sometime that day."
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Bought a Vita with Gravity Rush today. So awesome.
TheMightyEthan
Can you save Gravity Rush on the cart, or only a memory card?
Strangelove
I dont think so. Very few games can save to the actual cart.

Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Konami watermarks the screenshots you take? That's obnoxious.

Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Getting closer to my goal of platinuming Gravity Rush. All I have left is getting gold on every challenge, reaching the maximum reputation level, and beating the third secret boss.

deanb
The watermarks may be obnoxious but they do serve a purpose two fold: -ingenious marketing tool (Steam vaguely has the feature, see CS:GO, wait for others to make use of it) - You know the fuck the game is. (which is a terrible problem people have when posting screenshots on social sites) Â Though yeah, mainly annoying.
Strangelove
I don't mind the watermarks because I do have a problem with seeing screenshots online and not knowing where the fuck theyre from. Plus, I never use screenshots of any game as a wallpaper, so it doesnt bother me.
Strangelove
Well, Persona 4 Golden sold 137,000 in Japan this past week.. Thats not out of this world fantastic overall, but its great for the Vita. Thats something to be excited about. I dont care about the competition or which handheld is better than the other, but it's nice that developers can see that they can make money by putting their games on the Vita. It will probably drop drastically next week though. Im guessing all the Vita game starved people ate this shit up ASAP. I hope it does this well here in the US and in Europe. I know Im getting it day one. Â Thats the good thing about getting a new system, that you get to try games you probably wouldnt have bought if there were tons of other more established franchises. I hate to say it, but Im not very adventurous in my gaming purchases. I mostly stick to the same developers.
Mister Jack
Seeing that LBP has been pushed all the way to next year, P4 is pretty much the one vita game at the moment that I plan on buying in the foreseeable future.
