PS Vita

I'm still waiting on some good, new RPGs. The Vita's RPG library is sorely lacking. Heck, I'm playing Generation of Chaos: Pandora's Reflection right now for PSP. And that just came out . . . today evidently.

Lol, that makes me think of when Halo: Anniversary came out, I was playing it, on the second level, and one of my friends comes online and is like "hey, this game's awesome, when did it come out?"  I told him "today."  Apparently he was just walking through Target and happened to see it on the shelf and bought it.  He had never heard of it and didn't know it was coming out, and accidentally bought it day one.

Yeah, I received review code for it about a week ago. I just didn't know if today was the 19th or not. Had to check the calendar. x: Those were great: the days when you'd just stumble upon some neat game at a game/retail outlet. Doesn't happen often anymore with the Internet being so pervasive and all. That and I can't afford to just buy games on a whim anymore. There are too many.

I ended up paying the 99 dollars for a 32 GB memory card.  Normally I wouldn't but I just got my tax return and I don't care to spend it on anything else so I had some disposable income.  Also, ever since I joined Playstation Plus I've been downloading a lot more digital games.  I needed the space.

Still costs too damn much, though.

do you think sony is concentrating too much on re-releasing old games on PSN, and adding newer games to PSN+ and not enough on new content? There's only so many times I need to hear Final Fantasy has been reduced in price again or that some DIsney PS1 game is now available to buy digitally.

Maybe for the basic PSN service you could say that, but I really have very few negative things to say about PS Plus.  Compared to what I get when I pay for Live (Netflix and Online play and a shitload of ads) Playstation Plus just feels so much more worth the money.  I mean, free games every month?  Sure, they might not be brand new but I'm not going to complain about free games.  So far I've gotten Gravity Rush, Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man X: Maverick Hunter, King of Fighters XIII, and Double Dragon Neon.  Are they new?  Not really, but that's still quite a nice list.

I don't think it's like the people who would be developing new games are all of a sudden putting games on PS+ instead of designing games, I think it's just early in the console lifecycle, there's not new games every week, so re-releasing and discounting old games is a great way to fill that in.
I'd suspect the reason everything is so quiet on the PSVita front, outside of the Spring, is due to the Vita being so connected with the PS4, so they can't announce any Vita projects without revealing PS4 info.. maybe? Either way, I'm looking forward to Tearaway, Killzone, and Soul Sacrifice a lot more than any 3DS game. I'd suspect some more game announcements at E3 or maybe even tomorrow night (maybe).

As long as I'm talking about the vita, I'd like to say that I cannot stress enough how awesome cross-buy and cross-save are when a game actually uses them and they work as intended.  The vita and ps3 have great potential together but so few developers bother to really take advantage of it.  I was playing Sly Cooper on my ps3, uploaded a cloud save from a very simple in-game menu option,  downloaded the save onto my vita with the same menu, then went out for a while and picked up right where I left off while I was gone.  You don't really grasp just how cool it is until you actually do it.  If this sort of thing is standard or at least common with the PS4, I'm sold (unless that used games rumor is true).

PLEASE, SONY.  PLEASE RIP OFF THE WII U.

Mister Jack, you should try to Vita controller DLC for LBP2. It's the best use of multi-screen console gaming I've seen so far. But I do agree 100% with you, integrating the Vita and the PS4 together is vital (hehehe). If I could play every game on my PS4 HD / discdrive on my Vita remotely from the system, that would take the best idea of the Wii U and completely out do it.
Course it's Sony, so they'll probably put this feature in the system, not make it mandatory, and then no developers will use it and we'll all forget it even exists in 3 years. :-\

Sony's marketing since 2006 has been weird. I wasn't gaming much in the PS2 era, but I remember seeing commercials all the time for Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, and tons of other first party games. Now they're like "oh a new game is coming out that isn't Uncharted or God of War, let's write up a PlayStation Blog post and call it a day". It was especially sad to see so little Vita promotion at launch, because, again, I remember the launch of the PSP very well, and I wasn't even following the industry.

See I do that a ton with my phone (open recipe in chrome, shift to phone and follow recipe on my phone in chrome. Look up a place on PC, then get GPS directions on phone etc) so I can see how it'd be great for games too. Given Nintendo really suck in the tech/online dept it makes Sony the only ones in a position to be able to do this. They're in a unique position for so much given the scope of Sony Corp as a whole, but they fuck up so bad in putting all the pieces together. They suffer hugely with the whole "left hand not knowing what the right is doing". Sure Nintendo sucks at marketing the Wii U as a new console and not a really expensive add-on, but Sony sucks are marketing thier consoles not just to joe customer but to their studio partners too.

Shit would cost serious cash. Probably wouldn't get much of a ROI for Sony to go that high.

64gb would be the highest I can see them going right now.

PS3 launched with 20gb and 60gb. 60gb is certainly small in the PS+ era. 120gb gets the job done but I do have to delete stuff frequently.
