PS Vita

The problem with the Uncharteds, Assassin's Creeds or any other AAA title is that their Vita versions typically fall short of the console version. Thats usually the norm, but weve finally arrived at a handheld capable to get full fledged titles without being neutered gameplaywise. Can you imagine the  abandoned ship battle from Uncharted 3 or the naval combat from AC3 on the Vita? Thats the type of thing people want to see.

Now, I am all about the indie titles. I love them actually and its great that the Vita is where they normally all get portable ports. As far as Im concerned, were getting the best stuff, the Vita store isnt completely cluttered with crap.

But it needs something more. A REAL Metal Gear title. Peace Walker on the PSP was pretty good, but it wasn't as full fledged as MGS3 or MGS4. A GTA title. The PSP ones were fantastic for their time. Also, the next Monster Hunter. I dont care about it, but some people do. Maybe a new Final Fantasy. Another Crisis Core-like title would do wonders. That rumored Bioshock title. A new Resident Evil with the quality of Revelations.

And finally, Persona 5. Money int he goddamn bank.

I'll be honest. I just got a 3DS but now I am looking at the Vita since it will have a game that I want to play coming out for in by year's end. There is also the stuff I have bought on PSN for the PSP that I can pull over to the Vita as well. XSEED is going to bleed me dry. And yeah... I can maybe knock out some Persona I suppose? As far as I'm concerned, the Vita is matured for me.

My thinking is that I can knock out some games on the Vita and the 3DS as I wait for the PS4 to mature for a year or so. Besides, there are kind of glimmer of hope that some games that i would want on the PS4 would hop on over to the PC as well. So I have plenty of time to rock it with the handhelds.

The sheer amount of games coming to the Vita is great. Specifically the indie games. You can count on me purchasing:

Minecraft
Terraria

Proteus

Dragon Fantasy II

FEZ

Hotline Miami 2

Rogue Legacy

Muraski Baby

Jeeeeesus. I want some Killzone, Tearaway, and Borderland 2 as well.

They need Steam cross-buys like Portal 2.

Any idea how large a price cut we're looking at on Memory Cards?

Sainsburysentertainment.co.uk is the cheapest I can find them at the moment. The 32gb was £55 and is now £43. Nowhere else is even close on price to them.

Speaking of which - I've been looking around and I can't see anyone saying games top 4gb, so was I hallucinating when I thought I saw something that was 15gb?  If 4 is tops, then I don't see the problem with 32gb and even 16gb? That's enough for a couple of AAA retail games and several smaller PSN games with space to spare. Or is the problem if you literally want everything you own on the console at once?

Really? I find the Vita probably the most comfortable portable to hold since maybe the original Game Boy. Though, sometimes if I'm playing in bed laying down, my hands do fall asleep after extended periods.

I did try the Killzone beta last night. Spawned in the map, immediately got killed, trying to figure out the controls while getting killed the opposition wasn't the easiest. So, I gave up. However, what little I played felt great and looked even better. I'll pick this up at some point for sure.

I don't mean it's too heavy for my arms.  :P  It's too heavy on my fingers to hold it in a way that also lets me reach the thumbsticks and L/R.  Grips fix that problem by letting me hold it in a way that is actually slightly ergonomic.
