PS Vita

I would guess probably not, because I doubt that you're included in the class of customers, especially since it's specifically against SCEA for their advertising.  GOH might have a better idea, I know he deals more with federal courts than I do, though I don't have any idea if he does this kind of consumer stuff.

I'm still upset about that, I bought my Vita 2 weeks after the cutoff for qualifying for the settlement.

Has anyone here ever tried to play Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on the vita?  I feel like replaying it ever since Arin and Danny started doing a series on it, but I'm not sure if I should download the original PS1 version or the PSP remake.  I'm weighing the pros and cons but I'm still having trouble deciding.

PS1 Version

+ Original "so bad it's good" voice acting and dialogue

+ Cheaper than the PSP one

+ Exactly the same as I remember it

- Not sure if the stronger vita hardware will improve performance or not

- 4:3 ratio might not look too good on the vita screen

- Original version of the game lacks any new content

PSP Version

+ Includes Rondo of Blood and new content for SotN

+ Game has been updated with bug fixes

+ Might fit the vita screen better since it was originally a PSP game (not sure about this one)

- Voice acting and dialogue has been changed

- More expensive

- Border around the screen which can't be removed.

I'm on the fence.  Anyone have any insight?

I actually own both. If you're not interested in the other games in Dracula x chronicles, just get the ps1 Classic. You won't miss out on much. It's basically the same game. Only things that stand out is the new voices acting and playable Maria.

I'm a sucker for extra characters, but Maria is pretty boring to play with. She's not nearly as full fledged as richter.

Visually it looks identical. No noticeable bugs or bug fixes really. Same game.

You can add shit to the sides to fill out the screen if that's something you care about, otherwise it's a full screen game.

You also have to unlock symphony by playing a bit of Dracula x. It's not available from the start. It doesn't take too long, but whatever.

That being said, Dracula x chronicles is a fantastic package. If you like the older castlevania games, you can't go wrong with it.

I only got mine cos it was free with my PS4. If it worked outside of my home network it'd be somewhat useful as a small thing to take to parents n still be able to use PS4. As it was, it only properly worked within home network which was a tad pointless for me given my PS4 is here at home too without any of the lag.

I got it for remote play, because I loved remote play on Vita but over the wifi it's not very stable.  So I thought "Yeah, remote play over LAN!  That'll solve the problems!"  And it did.  Except it introduced the new problem of needing to be hooked up to the TV which meant I couldn't use it out in the main room with my wife (which is the main reason I used remote play in the first place) without dominating the TV.

In retrospect that should have been a fairly obvious problem.

And to answer your question, yes, I will be getting the Switch when Zelda launches!  Why do you ask?   ;)
