dmcshinobi
I love playing four player coop games, but there aren't too many one's that I can find that play locally anymore. Castle Crashers has been my favorite for a while now. I've also played some Scott Pilgrim and Radiangames Inferno and I enjoy those as well. What do you guys think? Commander Shepard
X-Men Arcade and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade games. They become the greatest games ever when you have a full team to fight your way through the game, with the Simpsons Arcade game being a closer runner-up. Yeah, I do love the TMNT arcade game but I have trouble enjoying the X-men one. Edited January 30, 2011 by dmcshinobi

Johnny
Castle Crashers is great fun. Also Scott Pilgrim. In my experience most of the great co-op fun is on PC though, and not local. <3 Sven Co-Op for Half-Life 1.

Yantelope
Halo games are the best local 4-player games. You can do 4-player split screen coop in Halo 3 I believe.
TheMightyEthan
I think Halo 3/ODST/Reach only support 2 player split-screen. In order to get 4 players you have to have at least 2 Xboxes.

I know for sure that you can do 4 player split screen in vs and on XBL on Halo 3 but I thought you could do coop campaign in 4 player split screen too. Maybe I remember wrong. Update: Looks like it was only 2 people on the same box can play campaign. Edited January 31, 2011 by Yantelope
Johnny
If I recall correctly they actually brought back 4 player split-screen in reach. Don't take my word for it though. I could be far off.
Pirandello
Best local co-op? Go get one of the old Gauntlet games. I had a great time playing them with my cousins back when the original Xbox was the hotcakes.
Tinkelp
All the games you mentioned are Xbox 360 games. Do they have to be for that system or can we suggest games for other platforms?
Johnny
Scott Pilgrim is, I think, also for ps3? Also I think Castle Crashers was recently ported there?
Tinkelp
Castle Crashers being ported is news to me. Still, he's probably talking about the 360 because Inferno is a title from the indie section on the marketplace.
TheMightyEthan
The OP may only have mentioned 360 games, but the thread isn't limited to them.
deanb
Mod Nation Racers is pretty damn fun. Especially as it's fast and intuitive enough to set up customized characters. LBP however you'd think is great co-op material, but the Pop-it menu takes a bit of explaining to get going, and the whole life system only giving 3/6 lives EVER, kind of means you'd be less inclined to hook up with shit players. TheMightyEthan
I don't think anything has so stressed my fiancee's and my relationship as playing LBP coop.
deanb
Your fiancée not so keen on playing with shit players either?
Hot Heart
I guess if Mod Nation Racers counts, you can play Mario Kart Wii in a co-operative mode. Of course, this requires you to own a Wii and have it set up. Edited January 31, 2011 by Hot Heart
Tinkelp
I was going to write a huge list of games but then I found Co-Optimus and I now feel completely useless. Wish I found it before I wrote up pitches for a bunch of games. Just pick a system then use the filters on the right side.
