Least favorite game of all time.

Post the one game that you absolutely hated beyond comparison and why.

Mine is Sonic 06, it was beyond horrid. Horrid glitches, terrible voice acting, Bad level design, Final level is a scrappy level, everyone but Blaze plays like crap, the story made no sense, and the implied love between Sonic the HEDGEHOG and a HUMAN princess. And by implied, I mean she kissed him to revive him, like every cliched Disney movie you can imagine, but worse.

Final Fantasy XIII. It isn't the worst game I've ever played, but the combination of an ultralong dev cycle, really high level of polish, and the completely and utterly bullshit gameplay, story and characters make it aggressively and offensively atrocious enough that it is my least favorite game of all time. I mean, it was like it was designed to be awful.

The Graveyard. I actually really like the games Tale of Tales have made, and intend to play whatever they might release in the future. But I know pretentious when I see it. The only difference between 'playing' The Graveyard and watching an entire playthrough on YouTube is that on YouTube you don't have to hold the up arrow on your keyboard to move the old bag forward. Its artistic message is thinly veiled and rather hollow. And it's like 5 minutes long so I don't have anything else to say about it.

Also; fuck these:

Oh man, if we're gonna talk about broken dreams in here then Saga Frontier needs to be at the top of the list. I bought FFVII, one of the best JRPGs ever and then bought FFTactics shortly after. Then following those two stellar games I bought Saga Frontier a month or two later and it was a steaming pile of poo.

Hahaha. Same here. I played a bunch of really good jrpgs to the point where i naively assumed all jrpgs were good....then along came saga frontier.

it looked so good too. Great art style and good music....the game itself blew buttloads of chunks of asshole though. I really didnt see it coming.

Let's see... Sonic Heros or whatever Sonic game it was called. The opening itself was horrible. The gameplay? Camera angles kills me when I go through those damn loops. Can't see where the hell I am going so I fall into a damn ditch and die.

Another one as the Journey to the West game. It plays sort of like Tactics, which I loved. However... this game was slow, completely unfair and shit. The storyline offended me a bit too...

On Paradise:

Part of my hate for it is my best friend loooves the game, which is fine, but whenever it comes up and I mention I dont like it he turns into a real arrogant, condescending dick about it. He becomes such a douche that a couple of times I almost stopped being his friend. Paradise is taboo to talk about now.

Far Cry 2.

Had so much potential and they just butchered it with menial gameplay mechanics. Can't drive a freaking meter in the damn game without a jeep showing up on your ass firing at you. And the voice actors for the game sounded like they were trying to break the world record for trying to utter a sentence as fast as possible. And the malaria pills sucked.

The game's engine is damn good, though, just about the only saving grace for it.

Completely off-topic, but I've had a friend ruin a friendship over a game of StarCraft 2.

He completely failed at analyzing what went wrong in my game plan and kept being an asshole about it until I had to block him on every service imaginable.

To this day he believes I am simply angry at him for losing the match. Despite me explaining otherwise.

Hmm that's a tough one.....the game I hated the most in the past few years is probably the first Assassin's Creed. Sure it looked great but fuck if that wasn't the most repetitve, illogically designed game ever. I lose health for killing civilians? WAT. And the voice acting was terrible and that story....it was so bleeding obvious that your 'master' was the bad guy, and that idiot Altair just drones on through everything. The sequel was much much better though, just a more fun game in every way.

As for all time....its hard to think of one, I've always been a bit more careful with my game purchases....my brother got a game called Titus the Fox for the Gameboy that was utterly wretched. Just a terrible platformer

See if were talking about disappointing then Final Fantasy XIII is by far my top but I don't put disappointing with least favourite. Sure it disappointed me eventually but its not my least favourite game of all time. Purely for chapter 8 which is one of the best story parts of any Final Fantasy ever. (that's the theme park part with Sazh and Vanille)

ahh GTA IV....yeah. I wasn't disappointed. Me and GTA's have just never got fully along. I like them but I never feel compelled to get that far in them.
