KZ3 Open Beta Weekend

Well, perhaps I'll continue to play the beta after all. Turns out the Unlock Point did unlock something, that is, for a different class. I haven't bothered to unlock anything for the Engineer yet, but somehow the Unlock Point went towards that class' secondary weapon. I swear I was on the Marksman tab for Career Unlocks, but at least the point hasn't been wasted.

Still, I'm going to play it safe and unlock weapons and skills on the main menu.

Eff, I hate playing late at night! I'm getting the feeling that not as many people are playing so I'll try earlier in the day. I mean, when I play now there's barely enough people in some matches.

I absolutely hate playing an online match where there's absolutely no chance of success. Joined three Operations matches where I was put on the team with two members against at least seven players in the opposing force. Heck, once I was by myself against three others!

Sometimes you get lucky in Warzone where over time more people show up to help quicken and even the game. In Guerrilla Warfare... it was me and some other guy facing off against each other. It was even for a while. Eventually I gained a teammate, but he was absolutely terrible and kept giving kills to the one guy. We teamed up, but he would freaking follow me side-by-side. No! If I get into trouble, you should be the backup, not another victim to a couple stray bullets.

Frags are still pretty reliable though. They have saved my ass on numerous occasions. Never underestimate the ricochet nade.

Seriously, I agree with this 100%! Some of my best kills in KZ2 and the KZ3 beta have been grenade ricochets. However, I've killed myself with some pretty insane ricochets. -_-

Good matches MaliciousH! Eff, grenades could have won us all those Assassination rounds, but I wasn't thinking! Heck, I almost didn't get that one target because my burst fire shots kept nicking the target. I think if you get too close to an enemy your gun actually "overlaps" or, you know, goes around the enemy.

I think I may bring it up on the Killzone forum on how wounded/dead bodies become obstacles. At first I thought people were being whiny about that, but with some of the close corridors and doors in this level, it actually seems like a valid point.

We kicked general asses. We ended on a great note.

My god, dead bodies actually blocked me from leaving or entering rooms a few time, in turn making me not pay attention and well, get shot dead. Not to mention getting stuck in place.

I should invest some points in getting that class that can capture spawn points up. Extra spawn points here and there would make some rounds so much easier. Especially when you have to go capture some points.

For the dead bodies just melee them and they die. It's because they're not dead, just mortally wounded. Hence them still being solid as if they were alive.

Also means if you don't whack em they'll possibly get a medic a couple seconds later and get their revenge.

Yeah, I've been aware of this, but it gets crazy when you have to melee a pile of wounded soldiers simply to run down a corridor. It's one of those things I just don't want to worry about when I'm running my ass to the drop-off point when I'm carrying the propaganda speaker.

Seriously, "Assassination" (locate) and "Search and Retrieve" are probably my best Warzone rounds.

WHAT THE HELl, I just played a game without a HUD and with the 'Your Team Lost" thing on my screen. Sadly, we didn't win.

SO I'm guessing this is an unintended Hardcore mode...

Ever since the patch, I've received the "Faction Won/Lost" screen three times. On the Killzone forums, many other players have experienced this as well.

I tried again about thirty minutes ago and was able to get on - this morning though when I tried to play, I kept getting error code 8001 (eight times and gave up), on trying to open the MP menu.

I think it's still a bit finicky.

That's the same one I was getting. :P
