MetalCaveman
It's really weird though, why the sudden price hike? Also, I just looked at it, the price of the game+season pass is the same as before, I might jump on that before it goes up. Hoping it was just an error or something like that, though I'm hearing conspiracy theories that this was so that the console versions weren't skipped in favour of the cheaper option. Edit: And... it's back to it's original price... WTF!?... Edited March 22, 2016 by MetalCaveman
toxicitizen
Holy shit, yeah, back to the old price here as well. Wtf are they doing? I'm guessing it was a mistake or something? Now I'm really tempted to buy it right away, just in case. Thanks for mentioning it lol.
toxicitizen
Japanese launch trailer. Oh man, that's looking pretty goddamn sick!
MetalCaveman
... The price went up again... What the hell is going on? At this rate I think I'll just buy it if it goes down again and just wait until I upgrade my GPU to play it.
TheMightyEthan
Surely if you're waiting on a GPU upgrade you might as well also wait for a sale.
MetalCaveman
Thing is, at the current price, it would need to be at a 50% discount to go back to the old price, which I don't know how soon it might happen. I'm just being impatient I know, but hey, this is Dark Souls we're talking about! Edit: Bandai Namco Latin America confirmed the new price is the one it'll stay at. Edit 2: Hype turns people stupid... Really, all this does is put it on par with the console versions, PS4 being the one I was originally going to get, just, saw the price of the PC version and thought it would be worth it assuming my PC would be capable of running it. I've been thinking of a upgrade for a while now, just waiting for NVIDIA to release their next line so the current one gets a price drop. That is all. Pojodin
The only trailer you'll ever need for DS3.

CorgiShinobi
So I guess my Dark Souls 3 adventure is postponed until Bandai Namco release a patch. Lowering Lighting, Shadow, and Shader resolved getting to the first bonfire. However I ended up dying in the first boss, getting the "You Died" message, and then the game crashed. Had to force a shut down as I couldn't even bring up Task Manager.
toxicitizen
So, just a heads up, I started watching that launch trailer yesterday and quickly stopped it because it was starting to show stuff I didn't wanna see. But from what I just heard, apparently it shows pretty much every single boss area as well as parts of the ending cutscene?? I mean, wtf?? Are Bandai Namco fucking retarded or something?
toxicitizen
HOLY SHIT! I just got to ANOR FUCKING LONDO! Mind. Blown. Seriously, I mean, although it definitely has major flaws, I always felt like Dark Souls II got a lot of undeserved shit. But goddamn it what the fuck was that piece of crap? This is the real Dark Souls II. Holy shit! Edited April 20, 2016 by FLD
CorgiShinobi
Since I made a few improvements to my PC, I've been playing Dark Souls 3 again (and on High settings). Is it odd that I still enjoy my beginning weapon even after picking up a ton others up to Undead Settlement? I chose the Assassin class because Dex/Int strikes my fancy, but the Estoc is just speaks to me. I did defeat "The Master" outside to get the first possible katana, but I swear the katana swing speed was slowed down a little from Dark Souls 2. Probably for the best as katanas were a little too good in that game. That, or the arc of the swings just seem to miss some the small fry enemy types. Seriously I get through the boss from the High Wall with my Ember intact, but I die to the two dogs behind the tipped over carriage. They must have both had 3 HP each, but they stun-locked me while I'm try to swing once more! Edited April 20, 2016 by Atomsk88

While it might not deal the absolutely most optimal amount of damage, even your starting weapon can carry you through the entire game if properly upgraded. I'm still rocking a sword I found in the early game. You really don't need to "upgrade" to a different weapon if you don't want to. Mostly, just picking a weapon whose fighting style works for you is what's important. That's happened to me a few times. Some enemies are just pretty fast at jumping at you in this one, so you usually want to dodge at first to open them up rather than just rush in sword swinging. And I say that as someone whose playstyle is usually to try and kill enemies before they can react to my presence.
MetalCaveman
Once I got the claymore I never looked back. Until I find the greatsword, I used two of those in DS2.
Pojodin
I was using a beasty Zweihänder, but then had a Dark Sword randomly drop. I've only used it for a day, but it's been surprisingly devastating. O:
CorgiShinobi
Oh lordy, I'm getting back into the swing of things. However, I got up to the Crystal Sage and that was just pure frustration. Mechanically, it's not hard. However, two times the final clones would spawn right next to each other. Absolute cluster of spells heading my way. So after a few tries and always getting screwed over in my last few swings, I popped Ember. But guess what, there's a glitch with online help! Depending on the connection, if you attack a clone right when it's spawning, it can become invincible and prevent completion of the boss. That happened three times in a row. Eventually I got a guy who may have been aware of the issue as he would wait for the clones to fully emerge. For such a simple boss, I can't believe it took me something like 40 minutes. MetalCaveman
Got the platinum today, way easier than Demon's Souls (fucking pure bladestone). Had some help from phantoms though, got summoned by someone in the Depths and they decided to give me a fully upgraded chaos weapon, also got invaded by friendly darkwraiths that left a bunch of upgrade materials, so thanks to all of them! \m/ \m/
toxicitizen
First DLC detailed: Ashes of Ariandel. Coming Oct 25th. Think I'll hold off until all the content is out, personally. I have no desire to do a full replay of Dark Souls III anytime soon and, as I learned with Dark Souls II, jumping straight into the DLC on a NG++ character after not having played for a few months doesn't exactly make for the best experience. CorgiShinobi
I got distracted and I'm like 2/3 through my first playthrough. I think I'll be in a good spot for the DLC. I didn't play the final DLC for Dark Souls II because after a while you end up playing other games and can't retroactively be at your prime. It was the same for Bloodborne's Old Hunters. Hadn't played it for months and some fantastic and very difficult DLC comes out. It's like I love the game, but it's a hard sell for me to pick up an older game where you need end-game skill long after you've been away. MetalCaveman
That's why I didn't touch Artorias of the Abyss until this year, love these games, but trying to get into the DLC when you haven't played in a while and/or left off in NG+++ or whatever is not cool. Trying to finish 3 this weekend since next week God Eater comes out, not sure if I'll be able to do it though: I'm currently exploring the Demon Ruins, haven't defeated the dancer yet, kinda want to level up some of my stuff before round 2. toxicitizen
I'd normally feel like this is unnecessary but let's be honest, I'm getting this day one anyway. It'll be good to finally have a PC version that's not completely fucked without a mod and I'll take literally any reason to replay it. 1
