MetalCaveman
Apparently it'll include some extra bosses for the PC version: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/04/07/petition-attrition-dark-souls-confirmed-for-pc/ I wonder if they'll be available as DLC for consoles. Now that it's coming to PC, anyone planning on buying it again/for the first time?
RockyRan
Definitely plan on buying it the first time on PC. Held off on getting the game on consoles just for this announcements, awesome to know my waiting wasn't a waste of time
MasterDex
Won't be buying it again. I have the PS3 LE so screw the PC version. Great to see it getting released though. And to think, at the start of this console generation, we were being shunned by the industry at large.
excel_excel
And here's some pictures of the new bosses! Edited April 8, 2012 by excel_excel
Cyber Rat
In case anyone was interested in what the captions said, it's only "Oh so witty" flavor you see in all magazines. Only useful info is that the lion boss is called Guardian/Watcher of the Crypt. Edited April 8, 2012 by Cyber Rat
Luftwaffles
Well shit, I buy a PS3, and now this decides to release on PC. Either way, I'm not 100% sure I'll be getting it right away. It sounds really neat, but I have so many games going right now, and the crazy hard difficulty might not be my cup of tea. I'll probably pick it up in the future though, especially if it ends up on Steam.
deanb
I still have Demon's Souls to beat.
TheMightyEthan
I'll probably get it eventually, but I'm not super sure I'll enjoy it since I don't tend to like things where "it's hard" is a selling point so I'll probably wait for good deal on it. Also, semi-related to that, is that games releasing later on PC automatically reduces the price I'm willing to pay for them. I absolutely will not pay more than what the console version is selling for, and for games coming out six months or more later the console version could have decreased in price dramatically. Faiblesse Des Sens
This is from a studio that really doesn't do PC releases. I don't know if they're handling it specifically (I'd assume so though considering the extra content) so I have no problem droppin another $50 on this. You know, as long as they don't make it a habit of expensive releases 6 months later.
MetalCaveman
Confirmed for PC as Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition, set to be released on August 24. Shows some of the new stuff. http://www.siliconer...pc-this-august/

TheMightyEthan
Where do you see GFWL mentioned? Also, I know I'll be shot for saying this, but I kind of like GFWL integration (I'm an achievement whore, and I'm more attached to my Live account's achievements than any of my other accounts). TCP
As a budding trophy whore, I can respect that. Kotaku is reporting it. Personally, I don't do any PC gaming because it's dead (jk). But, I've only ever heard bad things about GFWL. And by "only heard bad things" I mean, any time it's mentioned all people do is bitch about it. Personally, I think Steam is a waste of time as well, so what do I know.
Faiblesse Des Sens
GFWL just requires so many hoops to jump through. Steam is easy. I have no problem using some other service to download a game though, as you can always load the game through steam or evolve.
Maritan
GFWL? It's like they don't want their game to be bought.
Strangelove
http://www.change.or...or-windows-live Are you fucking kidding me? You make a petition to get the game on pc, it comes out on pc, but now you have a petition to not use GFWL. I dont care if GFWL anally rapes you while you use it, these people are awful entitled bitches. It would be awesome if they just took it back and not released on pc. Just to stick it to the assholes. Maybe i need more enlightening on this GFWL situation. Whats so bad about it? Id make a stance against a game that doesnt run well to not be released at all on a particular platform. Skyrim on PS3 comes to mind. That I understand. But begging for a game to come out on your platform of choice and then acting like a dick is too much even for me. I dont care if GFWL anally rapes you while you use it, these people are awful entitled bitches. It would be awesome if they just took it back and not released on pc. Just to stick it to the assholes. Can we stop throwing the word "entitled" around now? People are expressing dissatisfaction that GFWL is there and they don't want it, mostly because of all the negative prior experiences that there have been (like game saves going missing. I swear if it happens to me on Dark Souls I'm going to vomit fire), hence the petition. I don't get how that constitutes as "entitlement". Me? I don't really care. I've dealt with GFWL before and I can't say I've had issues, except for maybe GTA IV when I tried to install mods, but that's mostly because GTA IV's PC port is a piece of shit. I've played Dirt 2, Arkham City, Bulletstorm, etc., and have dealt with GFWL and it hasn't really been an issue for me. Mostly it's just an overlay I never use. By the same token, though, my indifference toward it isn't exactly positive. There's a bit of an issue when the best thing I can say about it is that it stays out of the way and that I never use it I'm not going apeshit over Namco Bandai using GFWL, because as we all know it's an easy-to-use API for developers as they port to PC from the 360. I can't imagine the budget for this port being all that high, plus From hasn't done a PC game in quite some time so I can't exactly fault them for taking the path of least resistance. At the same time, though, users have every right to express their dissatisfaction if something about the port strikes them the wrong way, and Namco Bandai has every right to ignore that petition.
TheMightyEthan
I'm not really clear on what the problems are with GFWL either, to be honest. Apparently people sometimes have issues with save games disappearing, or it disconnecting them from the service and as a result booting them out of the game, but I've never encountered anything like that. The one issue I have encountered is that you can't be playing a GFWL game on PC at the same time as you're (or someone else in your house is) watching Netflix on your 360 because you can't be signed in to the Live account in two places at once, which is admittedly irritating. deanb
It is a bit of a silly move to finally release the game on PC, then lumber it with GFWL. As for GFWL? It ate my FO3 saves. Wooh. 70hrs down the drain. Thankfully Bethesda got the message and New Vegas and Skyrim are Steamworks titles (Relic also changed from GFWL in DOW2 to Steamworks for the Retribution expandalone). It does fun things like this too: http://steamcommunit...876173301621132 (No, I hadn't changed my sign-in mid game). Also GFWL doesn't update itself until you're in the game. So you load the game up, get an alert GFWL is out-dated, so it then updates GFWL and then closes the game in order to start GFWL all over again. Oh and then it'll repeat the process to tell you it needs to update the game too. And it tends to fail and get errors in downloading the updates. (also while not exactly GFWLs fault, though it tends to highlight for itself even more how clunky it is, there's the odd game that has GFWL on top of Steamworks integration, see Batman AC and a few others not coming to my head right now.) Oh it's worth noting: Fine Not so fine
Yantelope V2
GFWL is just to make it even more challenging.
Connorrrr
GFWL is just to make it even more challenging. Heh, it'll be the first game to use GFWL and Origin concurrently. Prepare to die edition indeed!

RockyRan
The thought came to me that it's quite possible that From is using GFWL mostly because of the game's pretty unique netcode. As in, the options are either change the netcode drastically (unlikely for a port being done in what, 5 months?) or go the path of least resistance with GFWL and just keep most of the code from the 360 version.
